Dalip Tahil shows interest to return to Indian Television

Call him one of the most versatile actors of Bollywood. Be it comedy or the evil villain, the actor portrays it like a cake walk. After being a part of two iconic shows on Indian television, The Sword of Tipu Sultan and Buniyaad, he disappeared from the tellydom. But he was attached with the art of acting thro' theatre, Bollywood and British television shows. Now After a hiatus he has now showed interest to  return to Indian television.

We are talking about the multi-talented actor Dalip Tahil who is busy these days with his Sound of Music (theatre) and other Bollywood projects. The actor who has done British soap opera East Enders in UK is now looking for a comeback on Indian television with a promising concept. 

Well, we hear that the actor is already approached by Ekta's Balaji for their upcoming show for which the actor has already given the look tests. TellyBuzz recently reported about the show which is apparently the remake of Pardes planning to switch its channel from Life OK. Dalip has been approached to play the role which was portrayed by Amrish Puri. 

TellyBuzz spoke to the multi-talented actor and he says, "Yes I was approached by  Balaji Telefilms.I have also given my look-test for the show. Being an experienced actor they were a little reluctant to take my look-test, but I insisted to give one. They have approached me for the lead role in the show."

Speaking about his interest in coming back on television, the actor asserts, "I was never away from television because I was working with British Television in the UK. But yes, this would be after a long hiatus that I will be back on Indian television. There were several offers from television, but it never worked for some reason or the other. There are certain terms and conditions that have to fall in place to work here."

"Indian television today I think needs a radical change and needs to upgrade the quality of the shows. The public has a lot of faith and interest in the shows but they are let down by producers. Changing from the earlier weekly format to the daily format is a good step.Today the shows are running just for a few months and it seems like people just want to make a quick buck and then move out. But at the same time we have shows which are good. I like to catch up on shows like Bade Acche Laggte Hai, Balika Vadhu and Kuch Toh Log Kahenge."

The actor has also shown an interest in getting back to the small screen to host reality shows which are musically inclined, "Since I am from theater, I am also aware of the different dance styles and other art, but I am more inclined to music and now I am a part of Musical as well." 

With such a theatre and Bollywood expert showing an interest to be part of television, seems like Ekta will have to face some competition to get him on board. Now with TellyBuzz reporting the show might be switching channels, let's see if Ekta gets him on board. Whether her show happens or not, the producers of television can make a note that a versatile actor like Dalip is available now.
