Box Office Update: Salman's 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' sells underwhelming 60k tickets in advance bookings

Ever since the humongous wave that Pathaan brought in at the box office, it has been a rather lull as we know and we already gearing towards the end of the fourth month of this year. You can read our piece on the box office analysis of the first quarter here.

But in the past few days, there has been hope and optimism surrounding the mega release on Eid 2023 coming in the form of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (KKBKKJ) with Salman Khan. As known, this is Khan's first major release on Eid since four years. A holiday that has meant for some of his biggest box office successes in the past. However, with the film releasing today, it isn't entirely good news when it comes to the advance booking update.

Khan himself recently announced that the advance booking has been open and audiences have booked around 60,000 tickets before its release. That might seem like a big number for a layman, it is considerably low at big national chains. Inspite of this, the film is expected to have a better response at non-national chains and single screens ahead.

As per trade reports and statistics, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan holds the maximum numbers of tickets (5.6 lakh) sold in the advance booking. Followed by KGF 2 (Hindi) with over 5 lakh, Brahmastra with over 3 lakh, 83 with 1.29 lakh, Drishyam with 1.19 lakh, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with 1.12 lakh, RRR (Hindi) with 1.09 lakh, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar with 75k, Laal Singh Chaddha with 64k, Gangubai Kathiawadi with 61k and Vikram Vedha with 60k tickets sales.

To be clocking a big number, the trends need to improve drastically ahead. Apart from KKBKKJ, Khan was last seen in a cameo as Tiger in Pathaan and interestingly, his next big release will also be Tiger 3. Coming to KKBKKJ, the film also stars a huge ensemble which includes the likes of Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde, Jagapathi Babu, Bhumika Chawla, Vijender Singh, Raghav Juyal, Siddharth Nigam, Jassie Gill, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari and Vinali Bhatnagar.
