This much celebrated saga revolves around two star crossed lovers who met while on vacation in Europe. Shot in the picturesque locales of Switzerland, DDLJ won laurels for its unprecedented romance, making Raj and Simran the quintessential messiahs of love. This unforgettable Rom-com gave us, as they're now call, vacation goals! 

Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999)

This much loved family drama featured a fun-filled family vacation to their village, Rampur. Featuring the rustic regions of Rajasthan with an overwhelming focus on the simplicity of the country life, mixed with a dash of romance, loads of family bonding, and a celebrated engagement party, this film became a memorable one with a vacation on screen. 

Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge (2000)

We have yet another rom-com capitalizing on the bewitching views and locations of Europe making this list. However, unlike DDLJ, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge failed to create a lasting impression on the minds of the audience. Nonetheless, the Swiss Alps did make for a spectacular backdrop, making us want to pack our bags like Sapna (Karisma Kapoor) and escape to the heady mix of stunning architecture and serene nature! 

Dil Chahta Hai (2001)

This cult classic is best remembered for the theme of friendship, but nonetheless, the trio's trip to Goa cannot be discounted. The Chapora Fort became well known as the 'Dil Chahta Hai' fort. Goa has, over the years, become a popular tourist destination with vacationers enjoying long lazy motor bike rides, sailing, and paragliding along the blues of the Goan beaches, like the three well loved Bollywood besties featured in this classic. 

Exploring the beauty of the unexplored world can be therapeutic.
