Veteran actor Anupam Kher has delighted his fans and followers with the exciting news of his upcoming project, where he will portray the legendary poet, philosopher, and essayist, Rabindranath Tagore. Taking to Instagram, Anupam Kher shared his first look as the esteemed poet, giving fans a glimpse into his transformation for the role.
In the black and white photo, Anupam Kher wore an attire reminiscent of Rabindranath Tagore's distinctive style. Adorned with white hair and a long beard, he captivated attention with a serious expression while looking at the floor. As the instrumental version of Rabindranath Tagore's iconic song "Sokhi, Bhabona Kahare Bole" played in the background, the actor's portrayal seemed poised to capture the essence of the literary genius.
Expressing his delight, Anupam Kher captioned the post, "Delighted to portray #Gurudev #RabindranathTagore in my 538th project. Will reveal the details in due course. Ye mere saubhagya hai ki mujhe gurudev ko parde par saakaar karne ka saubhagya parpt hua hai. Rabindranath Tagore, renowned as the first Indian recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913, holds a revered place in Indian literature and cultural history. He penned the national anthems of India and Bangladesh and composed numerous songs, known as Rabindra Sangeet. With epithets like Gurudev, Kabiguru, and Biswakabi, he is affectionately referred to as 'the Bard of Bengal.'
While fans eagerly await Anupam Kher's portrayal of Rabindranath Tagore, they can also anticipate his appearance in other exciting projects. The actor will be seen in director Anurag Basu's upcoming anthology film, "Metro In Dino," sharing the screen with a talented ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and Neena Gupta. The film is scheduled for release on March 29, 2024.
