Anil Kapoor discovered an unseen photograph from the sets of 'Mr India' on Friday. Director Shekhar Kapur is seen nudging Anil from behind in the candid photo of him posing with Sridevi. Anil responded to the throwback image when it was shared on Twitter by writing, "That's a rare pic .. (heart emoticon) seen it for the first time .. @shekharkapur Shekhar looking (thumbs up sign and okay hand emoji)."
Anil is pictured in the behind-the-scenes photo embracing Sridevi, who is wearing a long white dress while sporting his well-known brown jacket and hat ensemble. While Anil has maintained his appearance, Shekhar has aged. Shekhar Kapur directed the blockbuster movie, Mr India.
Amrish Puri, Satish Kaushik, and Annu Kapoor were featured as well. Satish passed away last month, and Amrish Puri died in 2005. In the movie, Satish portrayed Calender, Anil's friend and cook. He passed away on March 8, just after Holi celebrations, at the age of 66. Anil attended Satish's birth anniversary celebration on Thursday in Mumbai and posted a message on Instagram to honour him. Sridevi, who was a part of 'Mr India', passed away in 2018 in Dubai.
A milestone in Hindi cinema for its rarely-seen superhero genre, Mr India was a turning point for its director and cast members and was followed by other Indian movies in succeeding years. It was remade in Kannada as Jai Karnataka and Tamil as En Rathathin Rathame. Mr India 2, a 3D prequel, was announced in 2011 but has not yet begun filming.
