Alia Bhatt’s mom Soni Razdan shares petition to promote peace between India and Pakistan

Amidst the ongoing military tensions, Soni Razdan, mother of Alia Bhatt, is strongly promoting peace between India and Pakistan. She posted a petition titled, ‘India, Pakistan: Stop the hostilities’ on her Instagram late last night. As of now, Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt have not shared the petition on their respective social media accounts.

Soni Razdan took to Instagram to share the petition, captioning it with a message for peace. “Above all – PEACE ?? ?? Sign the petition. Link in bio."

The petition was started by activists from both countries who state on the website, “We, peace activists from India, Pakistan and elsewhere, categorically condemn every form of violent extremism and terrorism. We particularly condemn the targeting of unarmed civilians, for any reason, including as a means to achieve political ends."

India and Pakistan must behave responsibly. Any war between these two nuclear-armed nations would be disastrous. As history shows, it is ordinary citizens who suffer the most in conflict, especially women, children, minorities, the elderly, and other vulnerable communities forced to prove their patriotism. We therefore urge the people of India and Pakistan to hold their governments accountable and resist any speech or action that feeds war hysteria

The petition, which has been signed by 117 individuals, including prominent journalists, academicians, and researchers from India and Pakistan, is gaining traction.

Alia Bhatt expressed her support for the Indian Armed Forces after Operation Sindoor, a "measured" and "non-escalatory" response to the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The actress, posted a message on Instagram Stories: "I salute our armed forces today and every day. Jai Hind."
