Alia Bhatt finally opens up about nepotism and privilege: I acknowledge my privilege, but I also work hard

Actress Alia Bhatt, who made her debut appearance at Met Gala 2023, has addressed the ongoing conversation surrounding nepotism and privilege. Alia, who first entered Bollywood in 2012 with the film Student of the Year produced by Karan Johar, has been frequently linked to nepotism due to her family background. While acknowledging that her privileged background may have given her certain advantages, Alia stressed that she had not taken her success for granted. 

During a recent interview, Alia discussed her perspective on the ongoing debate about nepotism in the film industry and how she deals with it.

Alia Bhatt has previously responded to criticism regarding nepotism, stating that she auditioned for her first film with Karan Johar and was not solely given the opportunity due to her family's connections. 

However, in a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar Arabia, she acknowledged that her privileged background may have made it easier for her to gain entry into the industry than others. She empathizes with those who have struggled to enter the industry and recognizes that everyone's dreams and desires are equally important. Alia stresses that she does not take her position for granted and works hard every day, acknowledging the privilege she has been given and remaining focused on her work.

On the work front, Alia will be soon seen in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani alongside Ranveer Singh. It also features Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in essential roles. She also has Jee Le Zaraa with Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. This year, she will make her Hollywood debut with Heart of Stone, co-starring Gal Gadot.
