Ali Abbas Zafar on 'Bade Miyan': Ours is a completely new film, it has nothing to do with the old one

Since the past few days, filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar and his upcoming actioner Bade Miyan has been making headlines. 

Ali Abbas Zafar announced earlier that his next action picture Bade Miyan, starring Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar, was not shelved as several media sites claimed. While he refuted the speculations, a leading publication had a chat with the filmmaker to learn more about the movie's concept, which is  similarly titled to David Dhawan's film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda.

Talking about the similarity of title  with ETimes, Ali quoted,

 "Our film Bade Miyan is a completely new film. It has nothing to do with the old one." 

The combination of two bonafide action stars, Tiger and Akshay Kumar, will be one of  Ali Abbas’ film's key centrepieces. 

Throwing light on the potential for his high-octane production in the movie, Ali remarked, 

“It will be a large-scale action feature. We're now prepping for it, and we'll start filming by the end of the year." 

For the unversed, David Dhawan’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was focused on mistaking identities and doppelgangers. It featured Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in some unforgettable comic set-pieces. 

On the other side, Ali's movie would focus on the action and athleticism of its protagonists, Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar. Ali has previously collaborated on action films like Gunday and Tiger Zinda Hai.

Fans are eagerly waiting to see the film on the big screen as two action stars of the industry would join forces and the intensity of drama and stunts involved in the feature would be nothing less than an extravagant spectacle.
