Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar had tested positive for Covid-19 last month and was hospitalised for precautionary measures.
Today, on the occasion of International Nurses Day, Akshay recalled that time and praised the nurses for their service during his recovery. Taking to Twitter, the 53 year old actor wrote:
"When I was hospitalised recently, what totally moved me was the amazing capacity of nurses at work. Selflessly and non-stop. Thank you to the real heroes. #InternationalNursesDay."
Last month, Akshay had contracted Coronavirus during the shooting of his film Ram Setu. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees, General Secretary Ashok Dubey had also revealed that 45 out of 100 junior artistes who were going to join the team had also tested positive for Coronavirus.
Later, when Akshay Kumar was discharged from the hospital, his wife and author Twinkle Khanna had shared the news in an Instagram post. "Safe and sound and good to have him back around. #allizwell," she had written alongside a caricature of the couple.
Recently, Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna extended a helping hand in the fight against Covid-19 and donated 100 oxygen concentrators.
Talking about the donation, Twinkle had written in her post, "I think for the last few weeks with members of my own family ill I have been in a bit of a hole. But I couldn’t stay there for long. I implore all of you in your own way to do whatever you can so we can look back at this bleak moment and at least say it took the worst but it brought out the best in all of us. #ILookForSilverLinings."
