On Friday, while speaking to the media for the promotions of his upcoming film 'Kesari 2,' Akshay was questioned about the critical reception of his social and political films. When asked about the negative feedback he sometimes faces for addressing taboo or sensitive topics, he initially responded confidently: “I don’t think anyone has criticized my films. Koi bewakoof hi hoga jo aisi films ko criticize karega. I’ve made Padman, Airlift, Toilet Ek Prem Katha, Kesari, and there are so many more. All these films are made with so much heart. A film can teach so many things to people, and that’s why I do them.”

However, the conversation took a more thoughtful turn when Akshay was informed about Jaya Bachchan’s comments on the title of his film Toilet Ek Prem Katha. In a previous statement, Jaya Bachchan had expressed her discomfort with the title, believing it trivialized an important issue like sanitation.

Upon hearing about Jaya Bachchan's remarks, Akshay was quick to reflect on her words with humility. "Ab agar unhone kaha hai toh sahi hoga phir, mujhe nahi pata. Ab agar TEPK jaisi film bana ke maine galat kaam kiya hai, toh phir agar woh keh rahi hai toh sahi hoga,'' Akshay said. (If she has said it, then it must be right," he said. "I don’t know.
