Prabhas, referred to as Darling (by his ardent fans across the globe), has amassed a sizable fan base over the years and has become one of the most loved and worshipped actors in India.
On the occasion of one of his career’s notable films – ‘Saaho’ completing four years today, we tell you how the superstar left a strong mark on the hearts of the audience in spite of the film's average box office performance and give you reasons to look into the world of this action thriller!
Tryst with Hindi!
While Prabhas is known to get into the skin of his characters and make them believable and relatable for the audience and his millions of followers, he took Hindi lessons and did a lot of homework to prepare for his character. Along with his dialogue teacher, Prabhas conducted dialogue classes for over a month and was also dubbed for the same in Hindi.
Action-packed climax sequence with over 100 fighters!
When it comes to Prabhas, things are expected to be grandeur and extravagant! A team of 100 fighters from across the globe were hired for the larger-than-life action sequence featuring the superstar and the baddies. It was choreographed by the internationally acclaimed director Peng Zhang of Hollywood biggies like The Last Samurai, Hellboy II: The Golden Army and Rush Hour 3. It became one of the biggest USPs of the film.ALSO READ: Prabhas turns 44: Fans set up 230-foot cutout in Hyderabad
Prabhas' collaboration with international stunt coordinator Kenny Bates!
Prabhas’ stunt sequences in the film have been shot extensively in Dubai, with the makers spending a huge chunk of the movie’s estimated budget. Hollywood stunt director Kenny Bates had choreographed the stunts for the movie, and it was certainly one of its kind in the Indian film industry. Interestingly, Kenny Bates was awestruck by Prabhas’ commitment and was heavily impressed by the actor’s attitude when it came down to pushing the envelope for action scenes.
To play the role of a cop in the film, Prabhas had to tone it down to over 10 kgs, for which he went on a strict diet that spread across seven different meals during the day. Since workouts and training were an integral part of his routine for weight loss, his diet was high protein and high carb.
Saaho might not be a film that will be remembered for its craft or even for its box office but given the fact that it came right after Prabhas' earth-shattering success and rise in popularity with Baahubali franchise, it still is an important one to remember.
On the work front, Prabhas will be next seen in ‘Salaar’ with Shruti Haasan, ‘Project K’ with Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, ‘Spirit’ with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and another intriguing project with filmmaker Maruthi.ALSO READ: On Prabhas' birthday, Twitter introduces special emojis of his upcoming film, 'Salaar: Part One - Ceasefire'
