Post Kiara Advani, Vikrant Massey also decides to step away from Ranveer Singh’s Don 3 due to THIS reason

Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar, is highly anticipated, with reports indicating that Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon are set to begin filming in January 2026. Vikrant Massey, known for his recent work in 'Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan' with Shanaya Kapoor, was originally set to star in 'Don 3.' He was reportedly cast as the main villain, intended to act alongside Ranveer Singh in Farhan Akhtar's film. Recent industry buzz suggests a potential cast change, hinting that Vijay Deverakonda might replace Vikrant Massey in the film.

Industry sources indicate that Vikrant Massey has withdrawn from 'Don 3', reportedly due to the role's lack of depth. The character also demanded a significant physical transformation. Originally, he was slated to portray a suave, charismatic con artist engaging in high-octane action sequences alongside Ranveer Singh.

'Don 3' has encountered previous challenges, including Kiara Advani's departure due to her pregnancy, with Kriti Sanon taking her place. With filming slated for January 2026, Farhan Akhtar faces a time crunch to finalize the appropriate actor for this essential role.

Earlier reports also suggested significant cameos in the action thriller, possibly featuring Priyanka Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan. A source told India Today, “The makers are planning to add some drama by including Shah Rukh Khan’s character. Not much is known about the part; however, Farhan Akhtar reportedly reached out to SRK and narrated the character and the story around him. While the superstar is busy with King at the moment, given their close association, he has agreed to do it."

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, a source close to the production told Subhash K. Jha that the team is planning a major surprise. The source stated, "There is a possibility that Priyanka Chopra may return to the Don franchise." With the aim to start filming in January, the movie is targeted for a December 2026 release.
