Mehek was on her knees with hands folded against her chest. She is a headstrong and strong willed lady but not without brains. Though she hated being helpless, she was wise enough to know that it is vain to show attitude to Shaurya Singh Ahawat and his family. She knew him for long to be well aware of his benevolent nature despite being egoistic. "Show mercy. Please forgive", she was hopeful but he shook his head in denial. "You crossed the line this time, Mehek", he said plainly. "Still a marriage is not solution here", she said strongly. "I agree. Hence I am not forcing you to marry", he said, "I am just asking you to choose". He held his pistol comfortably in his hand, "Either marry me or", he moved his weapon to the bound & gagged figure in the corner, "or let me kill her". Swati whimpered and moved her head in protest. Mehek looked sympathetically at her sister , "You cannot change the truth ", she tried to reason. "I know. I wish I could", he sighed, " You were a good friend. I trusted you but you chose to betray me. Now I am helpless. Honour of my family is at stake. I cannot leave you scot-free. An example had to be set here", he tried to explain himself. "This is not a choice", Mehek's eyes burned with fury. "Ofcourse it is. May be not a fair one", he smirked, "You didn't play fair with me either". "I don't love you. It will be unjust for you too to be trapped in a loveless marriage", she told him compassionately. He pulled her by shoulder and peered into her eyes, "After what I have been through, do you think I f**king care?". She shook her head in dismay. "I need an answer, Mehek. I need it NOW", he roared pushing her back to floor. "I cannot marry you", she spoke vehemently. "Good. So you made your decision", he aimed his pistol at Swati, "Good bye, Swati". "No!", Mehek screamed and grabbed his arm, "Don't kill her. I am ready to marry you". He lowered his pistol and sighed. "But I have a condition", Mehek told. "You are in no position to bargain, Mehek. Yet tell me", he said. "You will let her go. No harm shall befall on my Di", she asked bravely. He laughed softly, partly admiring her courage and partly mocking her stupidity. "Mehek, I assure you, once all rituals of our marriage are over, you both will be send to your home respectfully", he informed. "Can I have your word?", Mehek was skeptical. "I give you my word. Unlike you, I never cheat", he turned to leave.
