PROLOGUE
They were not best buddies. He admired her talent and courage. She appreciated his kind nature and skills. They were born to families on rival sides. They shared passion for Boxing. It made them competitors yet earned respect of one another. They are good friends. It was last day of their college, their graduation party. Their paths were not supposed to cross further coz their worlds were far apart. They are Shaurya and Mehek. Shaurya is prince of Ahlawat family. He is apple of eye of his obnoxious yet loving father. Though he was expected to take over his father's reign, he preferred to be away from violence and power. He is a good hearted gentleman, thanks to the upbringing of his caring mother. Yet he had his father's share of genes too coz at times he is egoistic and obstinate. Mehek, a strong willed girl born in a middle class family. Her father supported rivals of Ahlawats. Her father hated her from birth as she is a girl child. But that made her a strong and wise woman who will never give up and fight till the end. Her sole aim is to excel in studies and career so that she & her mother can escape from the unfairness they were subjected to. She was not part of family feuds but never shied away from adventures especially when it was for a greater good. She is known to play fair.
"Shaurya", she called him. "Congrats", he answered with his million dollar smile. "How did you know?", she was amazed. "Magic!", he humoured, "Principal Sir told me today. You deserved it Mehek. This sports scholarship will help you to fulfill your dream to study further". Mehek nodded, "Sir, told me it was tough decision for him to select among one of us for it". "I guess I will miss you", he said earning a surprise look from Mehek, "I mean...it is tough to find an opponent like you", he explained. She smiled. He extended his hand but she refused it. She moved ahead and hugged him, "I will miss you too. Take care". She bid farewell and turned to leave when he asked her to wait. He pulled out an envelope from his bag and gave it to her. "It will mean a lot to me if you could come", he told earnestly before leaving. Mehek stood silent , gazing at the glossy envelop. It is his wedding card, an invitation to attend his wedding.
