CHAPTER - 19
Next morning Mehak as usual tried to sneak away without being caught by Shaurya but it was not her lucky day this time, Shaurya had already woken up an hour earlier than what time she used to leave the house and was already waiting for her in his car outside at some distance from his home. She was wearing a pink shift dress and was looking breathtakingly beautiful and he was wearing a blue casual shirt with jeans and a pair of sneakers. He was tapping his fingers on the steering wheel waiting for her to come out and every now and then kept looking in his side mirror to see if she had come out. After a while she had come out walking on the sidewalk and looking back every now and then to see if Shaurya was following her or not. He saw her in his side mirror and for a moment was lost in her beauty specially in that pink dress she was looking more beautiful, he chuckled seeing her looking back from time to time but she didn't know he was there waiting for her. She was so much scared of him following her that she didn't notice his car standing right next to the sidewalk and she walked right past him. He thought she would notice him standing him but she didn't "Hey patakha, hey beautiful where you going? Want a ride" he called out to her much to her annoyance, she picked up a stone laying there on the side and was about to throw at his car when he asked her to stop and came out of the car "What are you doing Mehak? Want to destroy my car again" , "Shaurya??" She called out his name shocked "Yes Shaurya, you thought you would escape me again today specially after what happened last night see I have caught you now and we have many things to talk about, you didn't even reply to my messages last night, get in the car" Shaurya ordered her, "I am not getting in that car" she replied crossing her arms to suggest she was standing her ground. Shaurya smirked at her "So you won't get in the car when I am asking you nicely" he towered her making her nervous "Why are you looking here and there, look at me Mehak, do you get nervous when I am around you?", she swallowed hard and tried looking up but she couldn't "No..no..I..I" she couldn't form any words as she was nervous around him now more so than ever after what happened last night. He put his finger on her lips "Shesshhh don't say anything Mehak. Just get in the car" he told her again smiling at her nervousness but she was stubborn too and she tried moving away telling him she will not get in his car instead she will take a bus as she does every day. She was stubborn but not more than him "Don't say I didn't warn you Mehak I asked you nicely first you didn't comply now I am going to have to take you to the car my way" saying that Shaurya picked her up and put her on his shoulder taking her to his car. She was beating his back which didn't even register to him when finally she gave up as she knew there was no escape "Okay okay I give up please let me down now, what if someone sees us like this? Please Shaurya" , "I don't care if anyone sees us, I warned you Mehak but you don't learn" he had reached the passenger door of his car and put her down there, he opened the door signalling her to get in, he looked at him with anger but she had no option but to get in as he signalled to her again to get in and she finally did "Good girl" he called her and went to the driver seat to get in. He buckled his seat belt and seeing her struggling with hers he buckled hers as well "Get comfortable Mehak we have a long journey ahead" Shaurya told her with a smile. She got more nervous and ask him worriedly "What do you mean by long journey? Where are you taking me?" , "Don't worry Mehak I am not going to kill you, you will know soon" his reply which didn't settle her down by any means, she looked out her window worried. They were quiet for most of their journey Shaurya tried to ease the tension by playing some music on the radio, "Pillow talk" was playing

Shaurya was trying hard not to burst out into laughter seeing Mehak's reaction to the lyrics who was swallowing hard, she looked at him laughing and got angry she tried changing the station, she changed the station but on it was playing "Talk dirty to me

I got lipstick stamps on my passport,

Mehak turned down the volume this time, afraid to change the station again as she didn't know what else she has to hear today. Shaurya couldn't control his laughter anymore, she looked at him in anger telling him what kind of songs he listens to "What Mehak? Now you are going to blame me for the station playing such songs?" , "Waise whats wrong in these songs, these are the chart toppers Mehak but you wouldn't know as you are so boring" he tried to tease as he wanted to get a reaction out of her. "I am not boring" she replied back sounding confident, "You are Mehak, what proof do you have that you aren't? tell me one thing that you have done that is exciting" , she was silent for a while "Bolo Mehak, why are you silent now?", "Woh woh" she didn't know what to tell him "Yes that time I got drunk at a bar in Nice" she replied excitedly sounding like a child, he looked at her smiling at her cute expressions and at her excitement "Yes that time you didn't get drunk, it was by mistake and how is that exciting you didn't even remember what had happened" her face fell at his reply, he was right she hasn't done anything exciting in his life, she didn't have the luxury of enjoying life, she was looking down looking sad and her eyes were getting moist. He noticed that and stopped the car to a side, he moved her hair to a side which were blocking the full view of her face and he felt bad that she got upset because of him "Oho Mehak please don't be sad I am sorry I was just joking" he tried to comfort her, "No its okay, you are right I haven't done many exciting things in my life as my life hasn't been easy, I didn't have the luxury to go out and enjoy myself" , "It's okay Mehak I know and your life from now on will be more colourful and exciting I promise" he assured cupping her face, she looked at his face confused as if to not get the whole meaning behind his words, his eyes all which held sincere adoration for her, no matter how much he irritated her some of his words had always showed her a life which only she has dreamt of or it was because she wanted those words to hold those meanings, at this point even she was confused at her thoughts. They looked at each other like that for some time when they brought back to the reality by a mobile phone ringing, it was Shaurya's mobile and the caller id showed Vicky. He picked it up quickly telling him he won't be able to come to work today, Vicky told him even Harish uncle was not coming today and questioned if everything was alright. Shaurya assured him everything was alright and requested him to take care of everything today as he has some important work and he is going out of city. Vicky didn't ask him anything else and assured him he will take care of everything and disconnected the call. Shaurya looked at Mehak who looked at him confused "Don't worry Mehak you will soon know where we are going and by the way I forgot to tell you have done a very exciting thing recently but you forgot all about it" he winked at her, Mehak looked at him again confused "Oh you don't remember Mehak? so bad how have you forgotten our first kiss?" Mehak mouth dropped open in shock, she looked at him angrily and tried hitting him "What are you doing Mehak? I am driving" he told her trying to avoid her hits laughing "Oh sorry sorry she instantly regretted what she was doing" , "I didn't know you were so feisty Mehak?", "I am and I will beat you if you said anything like that again, "Oh really you will? I will like for you to try but somewhere where we can fight freely...You know?" he again teased her, she was again about to hit him when he defended himself "Okay okay you win" she couldn't hide her smile this time and turned her face to look out her window, Shaurya noticed her smile and complimented her telling her she looks beautiful when she smiles she should always be smiling, she blushed at his compliment and looked down "You look most beautiful when blushing" , "Stop Shaurya" she pleaded with him "keep your eyes on the road" requesting him "Okay okay" he laughed and kept on driving.
After a while they had to stop for gas, Shaurya asked Mehak she should get something to eat as it's a long journey and she will get hungry. She told him she was not hungry and she will okay. Shaurya nodded and filled up his car, he seated her in her seat and asked her to wait for a moment. He went inside the gift shop and brought a cute teddy for her and gave it to her "Aww it's so cute" , "Not more than me" , "Yeah right" she replied rolling her eyes. "Don't look at him all the time Mehak or I will throw him out" , "No you can't throw this cute teddy" she hugged it tightly, he was enjoying her child like antics and wanted her to be always like that, he smiled looking at her as they drove away.
Meanwhile Harish had told Karuna over the breakfast of Meera's condition although he didn't tell her what he had told Shaurya and Meera about the truth of his father as he had some plans to reveal that at the right time, now was not the time and the only thing that mattered was Meera's health. Karuna was sympathetic to Meera but didn't welcome Harish personally taking her to the doctor although she didn't say that to Harish. Dr. Carson studied Meera's case and upon further tests advised Harish that they should get the surgery done very soon as the tumour is still in its initial stage, we have a chance now if it gets to a critical stage then we wouldn't be able to do anything about it. Harish asked him when can they set up the surgery, Dr. Carson told him in one-week time. Harish told him they will go ahead with it.
Mehak and Shaurya reached their destination after a two-hour drive, it was a beautiful place with a big lake surrounded by big trees. Mehak was in awe of the place and and just kept looking around admiring the beauty of it, Shaurya kept his eyes on her seeing that shine in her eyes which was missing before seeing this place and was happy that such little thing can bring such joy to her. Adjacent to lake was a beautiful restaurant with a wonderful outdoor setting. They had their lunch first, Mehak was worried that her mother didn't know she was here Shaurya told her to call her, she tried calling her but her phone was switched off, she thought it to be strange as her mother's phone is never switched off but Shaurya made her relax that it was nothing than just a coincidence, may be her phone battery had died which made her relaxed and thought may be that was the case so she left her mother a voice mail that she would be late. They went on exploring the beautiful place. There were paddle boats in the lake which Mehak wanted to get in, Shaurya complied and they both had fun throwing water at each other while paddling, Shaurya complained that he was tired from paddling now, it was now Mehak's turn to tease him that how he acts like a macho man all the time and now got tired so soon but she knew better to tease him after all this was one thing in which she could never win from him, Shaurya smirked at her "Mehak you can check how much stamina I have anytime infact we can go and do it right here, what do you say Mehak? you want to check if I can go all day and night?". He got her again apparent from the shocked expression on her face, he had left her speechless again and she didn't know what to say instead of looking down and not meeting his eyes, her one hand was in water and she starting throwing water at him "Besharam(shameless)...Besharam(shameless) you have no filter you say anything anytime", "Mehak stop you are ruining my shirt" Shaurya told her trying to defend himself "Acha hain (Its good) you deserve it" and now Shaurya starting throwing water at her as well and both had a water fight. They both stopped when they noticed many people were glaring at them, they both chuckled and got out of the boat. They both sat near the lake at a place where there was no one around and they just talked and known about each other more. Mehak told him how she wanted to be study further but she couldn't because of their situation and how she had to do jobs every day from morning till late night to earn a living, Shaurya was sad and felt really bad for her at that moment, he said to himself looking at her that her struggles were now over and when the right time comes she will know what she have and she don't have to worry about doing jobs anymore, she also narrated to him about her childhood, how her father used to fulfil each other and every wish of her and her mother would be angry at him that he is spoiling her, she had tears in her eyes, Shaurya wiped away her tears and gave her a hug. Mehak wanted to know about Shaurya and so she asked him to tell her more about himself? Shaurya shared everything with Mehak, he told her how their childhoods were very different, he never got his parents attention much specially his mother's, he mentioned how Vicky was his only childhood friend and there was Mia who would play with them whom he hated very much. Mehak felt sad for him she didn't know he had a tough childhood and he spent it lonely most of the time that was the reason he acted so tough in front of others not showing them his vulnerable side which he had only until now shared with her only. Shaurya tried to lighten up the mood and told her to get up, he started stone skipping and asked her to do the same, she tried to do it but she failed she would just throw a stone which would not hop multiple times like Shaurya's, he taught her to throw it at an angle, she was successful this time and she hugged him in delight. She quickly realised what she had done and tried to move away but he held her by her waist in place and didn't let her move away, there was a slow romantic music playing in the distance "You hear that Mehak? let's dance" saying that he swayed with her, they swayed with each other in a comfortable silence with Shaurya's eyes fixed on Mehak who was looking away not able to look into his eyes, those dark eyes that held so much emotions for her. Shaurya inhaled the scent of her hair, he went down inhaling her scent all the way from her neck to her jaw, tracing it, it was intoxicating. Mehak couldn't get away from him at that moment, all those things he was doing she wanted to stop him but she couldn't, she had never felt anything like it before, she felt safe in his arms with her eyes closed and was just lost in the moment. She was brought back by his low sweet voice "Mehak" he called her, she could just reply with "Hmm". He chuckled and told her they should go now else it will get very late although he didn't want to and wanted to hold her in his arms like that forever. They made their way back to their car and drove off back to their home. On their way back home they saw someone calling for help with their car broken down, a woman who was 9 months pregnant was inside the car screaming, her husband was pleading for help and asked them to please help them and take them to the nearest hospital. Mehak and Shaurya agreed instantly and helped get the woman from the car to their car and drove away to the hospital. Mehak and Shaurya stayed in hospital and consoled the husband. Twins were born to the couple a girl and a boy, Mehak and Shaurya went to see the mother and twins. The couple couldn't thank them enough calling them Angels' sent upon by God and asked for their names and they named the girl 'Mehak' and the boy 'Shaurya'. Later Shaurya and Mehak drove away to their house bidding farewell to the couple, while on their way back home Shaurya told Mehak this was the best day ever, Mehak didn't say anything but smiled, a smile she wanted to hide from him but he had seen it and it said all that he wanted to hear.
