Hello mi-ladies,
I had yet again given up but after reading Sarun's update today, gave the epi a watch.
And it left me perturbed.
No, not for the leads, storyline or show.
Am left wondering why o why does ZKM pick the most relevant crimes which especially haunt a city like Delhi and reduce it to story set pieces and to move the storyline forward? And that too, not giving the crime, its due 'respect' or gravity?!!
Delhi is replete with instances of underage rich kids speeding away in their super expensive toys and killing innocent sidewalkers to people crossing the roads. Here yet again, they have used this as a plot point and most likely will romanticize the situation.
Police were paid off! Yet again, another reality of life here.
Earlier instances of sexual abuse/ molestation (whatever the word, does not take away from the crime) was dealt with in a very haphazard manner.
Similarly, Sonal's case of female suppression and abuse met with a similar fate.
Am just struggling for words here - I have no issues of their using these devices but unfortunately they do not treat these cases well. True to the nature of the crime in reality, the show too trivializes it and plays to its own selfish end!
I have reached the last tethers of hope here seeking not even sympathy but a considerate treatment of such topics!
