Lalitha as you said she very well knows how he is treated at his own home and she is being selfish by thinking only about her family and Shaurya..
I think she has given enough hints that she is actually thinking about him to refusing the alliance as she knows if he marries her his detractors read Mami and co will have another stick to beat him with .. they will say middle class keeda showed his true colors etc ... you know the kind of taunts she gives
Now the point about why she ignored the puppy..
We know she is in actual great pain about saying no and breaking the alliance .. one of the human reactions is that wen we are trying to move away from something painful we try to do away with everything that reminds us of that time or relationship..
People burn photos , delete contact numbers , change cities ..
The puppy reminds her of the haPpiest day in her life .. it is a reminder of her engagement that she is trying to forget..
Of course she will try to ignore it .. it is not that the puppy does not tug at her heartstrings.. she is trying to be hard hearted because she genuinely wants the best for Shaurya

If she can't face Svetlana she can't face the world. During cooking competition she fight with Shaurya for her family why don't she fight with Svetlana for her love mean Shaurya.?

Agree with Patsy we forget there relationship is not even a month old ...we cannot compare that with the fervor our she shows for her family .Ek baar shaadi hone do ...Jhansi ki Raani ban Jayegi M apne S ke lite

After marriage she have to fight no other choice for her. But before marriage it is her choice to fight for her love or to run away. Shaurya is doing his part right fighting for his love but she is running away.

After accident I hope karuna and sharmas family give her a piece of advice make her realize how much Shaurya want her in his life. This kid need love what the hell with world keep the world aside hug and give him love life will be beautiful. Every relationship have a problem we have to face it , handle it overcome from that situation this is way we grow up, I hope Mehak understand that and take a right decision. Running and hiding will not give solution to a problem she have face it.

@ Lalitha .. I think she will herself come running for Shaurya after accident .. will not need any advice .. when Shaurya faked accident she had gone crazy and yesterday the sight of his burned hands she was crying..
