Mahek ran from there hurt to the core of her being she ran into her room threw herself on to her bed and begun bawling. All these years her dadaji never had a kind word for her but she accepted because she knew he was hurting at the loss of his eldest son her papa; in the past he had said hurtful things to her but he had never once threatened to disowned her now he has said those words no child wants to hear from a loved elder. He no longer want's her both in his life and house his stern orders to Kanta chachi marry her off soon.

Meanwhile back in the living area Kanta "Papa please don't do this she made a mistake and left here without our permission the young do make mistakes. Our Mahek did not do anything wrong with SK in fact he is the one who created this mess, all he cares about is his show and making money" she pleaded.

"You are blind as well as foolish Kanta bahu you saw the news she in his arms in the pool and then dancing drunk with him so drunk that he had to carry her to her room. What do you think happened there he is a man after all and she is a young girl alone with him. You are blinded by your love for her not to accept her truth but I am not!"

"Papa I believe and trust my upbringing Mahek is a good girl, foolish and impulsive but she will never deliberately bring shame on us. I understand that you are hurt and we have lost the respect you have worked so hard for all your life; but that is our nosy neighbours problem they should mind their own business Mehak told me she did nothing wrong and I believe her it is all that Shauyra Khanna's fault"

"Bahu how is it his fault you are the one who allowed her to enter that contest. You are the one who placed her in his eyesight. You are the one who made her dream big of fame and fortune see now what that has caused we are the laughing stock of society."

PD was silently crying who has cast an evil eye on her family her beautiful sweet ladoo; she got up with the help of Mansi bahu and made her way to Mehak's room.

Her sweet foolish girl was crying her heart out her body trembling as waves of emotions coursed through her body they heard her cry "Mama, papa why did you leave me? Why did you not take me with you? "

PD heart broke and she went to her precious great grand baby held her close to her heart "Hush beta don't take anything that old grumpy man says to heart. I know my ladoo did nothing wrong except being young and foolish wanting to take on the likes of Shayura Khanna all by herself. Hush now beta everything will be all right you trust your PD and Kanta chachi don't you." And she kissed her on her head rubbing her back tenderly.

At Shayura's home he in his room pondering what and how will her apologise to Mehak he had to appease his business partners and his ma. The clients want a public apology to that woman before they will consider doing business with him and his ma well she is so heartbroken he will do anything to bring back the smile on her face. Mehak had somehow calm herself after a short nap which PD had insisted she take; the kind old lady had stayed and hugged her to sleep singing to her as she did when Mehak was a child; she heard the buzz of the incoming message

From KK she was surprised maybe he can help me with my problem and she read his message and answered him

Hello friend I have been busy my life took a 360 degree turn so sorry I did not reach out to you

SK what a coincidence my life too took a turn for the worst

MS what happened are you okay not ill are you??

KK No physical harm just mental stress and you what happened your family found a groom for you??

MS Not yet but they are determine to find one for me soon. What about you is there some female causing you this stress?

KK I should be so lucky if it is only one but I have a few they are causing me all sorts of pain. Tell me why is your family so determine to marry you off?

MS Well I have reach marriageable age and the neighbours are starting to talk about me plus I have been accused of spending my free time with a young man no one believes that we meet by accident and that we are strangers to each other. I have been judged by my community and sentenced by my family.

Mehak was called for dinner by her brother so she had to end her online chat

Shayura went into his thinking mode first he has to pacify his ma so he went in search of her and found her in the kitchen speaking to the servants about dinner.

"Ma may I speak to you in private"

Mrs K was still angry with him but she would not vent her anger in front of the servants so she left for her room with Shayura following

"Well tell me what is so important that you have to say in private?"

"Ma I am sorry I hurt you it was never my intention to hurt you in any way. I just can't explain the emotions that rise in me when I see that middle class girl; she just drives me so insane by her looks her bold words her challenges. I know and accept that I allowed things to get out of hand but she just infuriates me so much." That night both Mehak and Shayura had a restless night both worried about what the future holds for them.

PD came on the scene "Kanta allow them inside after all they are guests to our home"

A furious Blawant was standing closely observing he said "What do you people want to embarrass us more that girl and this man has caused us enough damage. Get out of my house!"

"Papa no let us hear what he has to say"

PD "Where is your manners old man do you want me to slap you in this age"

Kanta said "Come inside this way" and lead them in to sit in the living area

Mohit closed the door on the nosy neighbours but did not notice that Sonal had ran inside to be at Mehak's side who was staring at the guest wondering what more could go wrong in her life.

Balwant "Speak quickly then leave!"

Mrs K was about to speak but Shayura stopped her he went in front of the old man and bent down surprising all even his mother "I ask your forgiveness dadaji I did not mean for this to happen things just got out of my hands. What started out as a simple challenge between Mehak and I turned out to be a huge disaster. She wanted to prove that she is a talented cook and I wanted to prove that no untrained middle class girl could be my equal. Mehak has the love and support of her family and she wanted to make you people proud I on the other had believed that you all are just greedy leaches who are using her to get fame and wealth. It is my misunderstanding I refused to see the genuine love and concern you all share. Dadaji I just to tell you that nothing happened between us I did not touch her inappropriately she is still your untouched granddaughter."

Dadaji was unmoved "So what was that you had your arms around her in the pool and you two were drunk dancing then you carried her to her room or maybe yours and you come here now to lie to me I might be old but I am not foolish I know the type of games you rich brats play"

Shayura was desperate "dadaji I did not touch Mehak she is still pure don't judge me to or Mehak to harshly. We were in the pool because I shoved he in the water I thought it would of made good publicity a contestant swimming to get the much needed ingredient even though she told me she could not swim I still shoved her ten no one was going to save her so I did of course my hand would be on her I was saving her life. If you don't believe me ask her for it is the truth. Then yes I wanted to cause her some embarrassment because we had another argument and yes it would bring interest to the show by the public so I added a bit of alcohol to her juice but I also got my drink spiked and we both started to enjoy a bit too much then she fell down asleep then again no one was ready to take her to her room so I carried her after all she was my responsibility but I promise you nothing happened between us"

Sonal who could no longer hold her tongue said "So why did she call me all hysterical saying that you slept with her and took her maidenhood and she was worried about becoming pregnant"

"What did you say see Kanta bahu this is all drama on his part she what that cheap girl has done!"

Kanta chachi went to Mehak and slapped her hard across the face "You lied to me you abused my love for you this is how you repay my motherly affection"

Shayura moved so quickly he was at Mehak's side defending her "No chachi ji you are wrong nothing of that sort happened again it was me who was teasing her again out of my anger and she foolish girl believed me and ran out crying before I had the chance to tell her that it is all a lie she had already spoken to her friend. Chachi please believe me she is innocent it is all my fault my pride and my need to torture her for even I don't know the reason that is at fault her not her." And he had his hands joined pleading for forgiveness for both Mehak and himself.

Mrs K came forward "Behan I know my son is strong willed and can be arrogant but he has a good heart I know he has not touched Mehak yes this foolish challenge between them has caused so much damage but he say he has not spoilt her and I believe him."

Balwant "of course you would believe your son he could commit murder and you would believe that he is innocent how many other have there been and you had to cover up his dirty deeds. If you think you can bribe us with your wealth make this go away then think again we can file a case against you! But what would be the point more embarrassment for us because of this girl! Now even my last hope of marrying her off is lost who would want her in their family. Both your son and her are to be blamed for the humiliation I and my family are going through; and you have the nerve to come here and plead with us that you and she are innocent. You want something from us I can feel it in my bones you want to come free from this scandal so you brought your ma here to fool us if she is indeed your ma. Tell me clearly what do you want from us!"

"I want Mehak as my wife "was the simply answer Shayura give surprising all including himself

"Would you accept such a girl in your house madam?" asked Blawant

"Yes I will gladly accept her as my bahu but I will treat her as my daughter"

Mehak who had gotten over her shock said "Sir, auntie you don't have to do this it is okay you apologised to me and my family admitted your wrong doing it is fine you don't have to marry me"

"Mehak I am not doing this out of pity for you I am asking because I want to marry you it is the right thing to do to save you and your family from further humiliation. I am truly sorry for everything I did to you and I cannot bear to see you being mistreated by your family whom you love so much. Marriage to me won't be easy because we are not even friends and can hardly stand each other but we can make it work we already knows what irritate each other and our position in each other lives. The future we don't know about anything can happen we may stay together and have our own family or part ways. But right now this is the best solution for both our families marry me and help my mother make a better man of me."

Dadaji "So you want to give your child a name"

"Dadaji Mehak is not pregnant but she will soon be"

"Shayura Khanna is that the way to speak in front of your elders" reprimanded his ma

Shayura went and sat in front of her "PD I want to marry your great granddaughter will you give her to me"

"Yes but I cannot promise that we won't challenge each other or have an occasional fight"

PD "Beta if love come to your door you will allow it in won't you my Mehak is a gem of a girl all I want is to see her happy"

Shayura smiled at the kind old lady "yes I will love her and our children you have nothing to worry for"
