We may call Mustafa garbage or even something worse now, but he was always a major character of the show from the beginning. Zindagi Channel also mentioned his name before Fatmagul and Kerim in their teasers, if you all remember.
Mustafa is shown as a confused, gullible, self-centered, selfish and a man with false pride who wants to get rich by any means. He just wants a woman to satisfy his sexual desires. He never loves a woman. Be it Fatmagul, Hacer or Meltem.
He was not a womanizer from the beginning, but yes, his world turned upside-down by Fatmagul's tragedy. Circumstances brought out the worst in him. He was a weak person and this weakness made him leave Fatmagul in her toughest times. He was easily befooled by story-tellers and believed all nonsense about KF. His false pride and fear of society didn't let him support FG and an enraged Mustafa ended up believing that FG cheated him with Kerim. On reaching Istanbul, his rage was overshadowed by greed for money and power which made him a slave of Yasarans.
His loneliness in a new city brought him closer to Asu who became his only friend. With time, he became aware of Asu's love for him but never truly reciprocated or respected her feelings. In fact, so far, he has just used her as a tissue paper which he could throw anytime.
Mustafa stared craving for FG only upon realising that "if Kerim can be by her side, then why can't he?" His this thinking is nothing more than false pride. He actually doesn't love FG but just wants to possess her, own her.
Like Asu, FG also truly loved Mustafa for years. So, obviously, she is still not fully over him (although she doesn't love him anymore), even after knowing about his true nature. Her trust comes from the years that she devoted to him. While she is still learning to trust Kerim, so they end up arguing over Mustafa most of the times.
Meltem turned out to be more of a time-pass for Mustafa and she also used him in order to punish her rapist husband. So, there was no such thing as relationship.
He only knows how to use others but always ends up becoming a slave of his own deeds and wrongdoings.
In the coming episodes, will Mustafa be turning even worse than he already is? Only time will tell.
PS: Just sharing my perception about Mustafa's character.
