Hey everyone! I'm new to this thread. Just started watching FG few weeks back and I'm just loving it. Yesterday' s epi was good...I don't know if anyone's attention went to the part of epi where Selim and Erdogan were being mistreated in the previous cell they were in (though they deserved it... even more than that). Those people who were under trails for some or the other crimes had actually felt FG's pain which even her SIL can't. They showed that though they were charged for some crime, they are still humans at least. The mistreatment was a treat for me to watch. They knew the depth of the heinous crime Selim and Erdogan (Vural wasn't there so they didn't know at least) had committed which is not even realised by Perihan and Hilniye (being a woman). I liked that fact. Erdogan is such a monster that he doesn't even repent. Such a beautiful show. Agree? Disagree? Do tell.

🤣

Btw this reminds me, remember the link given by Vidya2 in previous DT? It was Vural's hell, and there was a comment by some members saying that if he continued to torture himself each moment then the title might change to Vural'un Sucu Ne?

😆

@DefLeppard and @poweritz , I agree with you guys on the point that if Kerim or Mariyam would have been around, they would not have let her leave alone. Its their responsibility given their characterization. But if Fatmagul herself continues to consider her vulnerabilities and live under constant fear of her culprits and the society, then she would never be able to break free and regain her confidence. She will never want anyone, be it Kerim or anyone, to stop her from going to places or do stuff she wants to. But she has to succumb to their requests as they are solely out of concern. What I mean is Kerim, Mariyam ,Rahmi and Kadir are all right to safeguard Fatmagul from all upcoming dangers but same cautious behaviour should not be expected of Fatmagul given the history. But then everyone is just trying to play their part and do what they think is best given the current situation.

Talking about Mustafa, he is one the biggest hypocrite villain. The worst part is that he doesn't even recognise or realise his shameful and disgusting self. He's definitely going to hell, if it exists. Words fall short to describe his wretched character and I guess just thinking about him frustrates me.

Agree with @Rads_R here. Don't think Fatmagul's stepping out was foolish or unrealistic. Though it wasnt planned and she had stormed out on impulse just to get away from MQ's persistent emotional torture, even if she had consciously decided to take a stroll, I wldnt fault her for it. And that's not just because of her freedom/rights issue. That's also because there werent any perceived threats to her after the Yasarans were taken into custody. They cldnt dare harm her at this point coz they knew if something happened to her needle of suspicion wld be directly on them and their case wld become even more weaker. They weren't foolish enough to risk that. As regards Mustafa, after the disclosure of truth to him abt FG not having betrayed him with Kerim, no one perceived a threat from him either. FG cldnt have known that his mental state had deteriorated to such an extent that he still continued to harbour a resentment against her and blamed her for being with Kerim, despite being the one to abandon her. She cldnt have known that he wld be so far gone in lunacy that he'd go to the extent of kidnaping her or causing her physical harm. Only a person who is not completely mentally healthy wld think of doing so. As viewers since we have been privy to his twisted thinking and degenerating mental condition, our seeing him as a possible threat might make sense (though don't think even amongst us many wld have thought he wld go to the extent of kidnapping her at gunpoint and forcing her to be with him) but FG wasn't privy to that, hence it was natural for her to think he was no longer a threat. For her he was just an unscrupulous person who didn't mind working with anyone for money. She didn't have any reason to think he wld still be thinking of harming her. Moreover, she wasn't even aware that he too was in Izmir as he hadn't been called for the hearing.

As to her going to that old house, again she didn't purposely venture out to visit it. While walking absentmindedly she seemed to have realised that she was on the road which led to that structure. And as old memories came flooding back to her she sort of in auto pilot mode stepped in that direction. But again, even if she had decided to visit it consciously, don't think there's anything wrong with that. Everyone has their own ways of dealing with and exorcising their demons. Sometimes road to catharsis/healing requires one to face and deal with one's demons head on. For FG, Mustafa burning down that house was the most painful thing after the rape. Her going there and realising that house no longer meant anything to her ...that it cld no longer cause her pain, cld be an imp step fwd in her recovery process

Dont agree here. Rape can't be justified even if done under the influence of drugs or booze. Period. Not even when compared to what Mustafa did. The rapists and Mustafa both are dispicable here but the truth is while Mustafa may be a worthless piece of shit with zero integrity for having abandoned FG and for trying to make money from the same ppl who caused her harm, GANG RAPING someone even if it's under the influence of of booze and drugs is far far worse. Nothing can be worse or more morally degenerate than raping a person... as rape is not only abt violating the body of a person/inflicting worst kind of sexual violence on her but its also abt murdering a person's soul, her honor. Nothing can compare to the trauma it leads to... not even being abandoned by one's fiance. No matter how much we dispise Mustafa (and he is truly pathetic) for dumping Fatma and making money out of the situation, what those 3 did to Fatma was far far more horrific and soul crushing. There's just no comparison.

It's not abt who is a better person out of them when they are compared against each other. Its abt whose act was the most horrifying, most savage, most brutal, most gut wrenching and caused most damage to Fatmagul and that has to be the gang rape.

In fact these two cases shouldn't even be compared as they don't even fall in the same category to merit a comparison.

Also, as @Rads said one's subconscious sate of mind is never so overpowering as to change one's character. What those 3 did to Fatmagul was part of their character, their morals and their conscience. That Kerim despite being under the influence of drugs and drinks like them, did not rape her proves that. His being an inherently good and morally upright person did not allow him to indulge in this heinous crime even in an ebirated state. People under the influence of drinks or drugs are not expected to go around murdering or raping people. And they don't. It's people's inherent moral values or rather lack of them which makes them indulge in such crimes regardless of extraneous factors like drugs or alcohol etc. Similarly, Kerim's not stopping them was as @muskaan said a reflection of his submissiveness vis a vis those three guys from the very beginning due to which he cld never stand up to them even when when they took him for granted... something that he thankfully outgrew out of at least post the incident
