Fantabulous episode and lots more to go...its just the beginning. Beren's expressions while they were taking Kerim away were simply fab, a turmoil within her, the fear of Kerim being sent behind bars, would she see him back again, did she take the right step, etc.
@Bandanaa - Regarding yesterday's starting scene where Rehmi and Kerim dropped Fatmagul to her workplace, the exchange of convo between Farim, did you find the dialogues were a little different? I guess in the original FG taunted Kerim. Also Qadir did not readily agree to take up the case but after a bit of coaxing he agreed (I felt Zindagi chopped the scene). What do you feel?
@iamanaida - As per the original, in response to Kerim asking her if she was mad at him for filing the complaint, she says - "No, I am mad at myself. For not being able to tell the police everything myself. For making this your victory". And no, she wasn't taunting him by saying this. It was more about her being self deprecatory. It was abt her being denigrative of herself for not having been able to file the complaint herself even though the crime was committed against her. Basically, her anger and frustration were mostly directed at herself for being so helpless. At the same time, while she was appreciative of Kerim for filing the complaint (evident from her earlier reaction) as well as concerned about what it meant for him, she also couldn't help but be a bit resentful of the fact that someone who was complicit in the crime had filed the complaint while she couldn't. Natural for someone in her situation to feel so, especially since it had just been a couple of months since that incident and her wounds were still fresh. Also, we have to understand that at this point in time, she is in a fragile place where her initial hatred for Kerim is extinguishing and her love for him is tentatively taking root, though she's not yet completely there or at least is not yet ready to acknowledge or accept it (even to herself). As she had said, it was difficult for her to deal with the fact that Kerim too was present on that fateful night and had been complicit to what had happened to her. No matter how much we love and adore Kerim, this is an inescapable, unfortunate truth. Something that both he and Fatmagul are constantly struggling to come to terms with. On one hand she cant help but be pulled towards him due to his unconditional love, care and chivalrous attitude towards her, while on the other hand she keeps recollecting that horrific night and his role in it and cant help but feel she's betraying the Fatamgul who had suffered the trauma that night by allowing herself to develop feelings for him, Hence, what she said here and her other similar reactions to him are basically a reflection or manifestation of her constant inner struggle to deal with the various conflicting emotions she feels for him.
As time passes, as she gets to know him more and more, she'lll be able to completely get rid of this 'sometimes surfacing resentment' against him and forgive him completely. In fact she'll not only start loving him as much as he loves her, she will also be fiercely protective of him. Her trust in him will be so unwavering that she'll believe in him and stand by him even when others wont (w.r.t some other accusations he will be faced with). Also, after their case becomes public, she'll come across people who wld question her decision to choose to continue to live with a man who had played a role in abetting the crime, but by then she wld be so completely unapologetic abt it that she wldnt care whether ppl understood it or not. Thats how unconditional her love for him wld be. She'll call their love a 'miracle' that was born out of an impossible situation. She'll call it their 'Impossible love'. Believe me, that'll be one of the most beautiful scenes of the show. But for the writers to show Fatma go from one extreme to the other i.e from sheer hate to an all consuming love for him, they have to show the ensuing journey of how she reached there in a credible way to be able to make it believable and not be called unrealsitic or be ridiculed. Given the complexity of their dynamic, they can make this journey believable only by showing the immense struggle she goes thru to deal with the conflicting emotions that plague her reg him and how it manifests itself in her reactions to him from time to time. They can make this journey believable only by showing how her feelings for him get transformed and strengthened gradually over a period of time and not easily and overnight
Regarding lawyer Kadir, no Zindagi did not chop off any of his scenes. You may be feeling that way probably due to inaccurate/inadequate transaltion of his last convo with Meriyam before he landed up at their place talking up the case. In that convo of theirs, Meriyam had said to him - "It's not like any other incident you know. It's so complicated. So grim. There's all kinds of evil involved in this story. If only you knew how desperate we are. And how consuming despair is". This last line is what convinces him to change his mind as he responds to it by saying "I do know it very well" (referring to the despair he felt due to the loss of his wife). And therefore in the very next scene we see him at their place discussing the case
