+100 on your points @sun29! 👏👏👏
Just because we watch Indian soaps or are Indian just doesn't means you can catagorize us into the group that we are used to the crying, weeping, sacrificing abla naari.

Having said that, I will still say that I felt for Rumaisa just cuz she was a true sufferer of the situations but it just doesn't means that you'll tolerate every damn thing on your self respect and dignity just cuz you're too afraid to protest?! 😕 that's lame.
If not anything, then Rumi should at least take a firm step against all the chichorapann Hassan is doing to her, no woman tolerates this, period.

And nothing justifies the behavior she's putting up with that Innocent Soul Maham who is as other kids her age should be. Locking her up in the room when she is calling you and looking after other kids?!😕
Beating her up for breaking a vase, handling her roughly? What's this? Taking out all your frustrations on her?
I agree Maham is treated as a burden in that house like her mother, but if Rumaisa will treat her like everyone does what's the difference? And the heights would be asking Zeeshan to leave her daughter in an orphanage? That's madness.

I won't say that I haven't seen submissive people, but everything has a limit. I agree she is insecure and has been considered Manhoos by everyone all her life but that doesn't means she'll continue being a doormat.
Sometimes, all you need is to find your inner strength. We aren't asking her to turn into Jhansi Ki Rani overnight, but she should at least make an attempt to fight.

Being tolerable to a limit is okay, but no woman should allow herself to be walked all over by others. It's irony to think that ppl will be happy with you if you bend down to all their wishes and allow yourself to be taken advantage of.

And no one, exactly no one teaches you to raise your voice. That's something that comes from your inner strength.

yes rabia was right..she did touch his heart from the first instance when she knocked at his door with his tea...he could not stop praising her that had rabia irked 😆

can you please put forward the interpretation of those scenes with zeeshan and his flashback modes with nabeel and then those soft looks to rumi...was that to evoke his guilt or to make him see why nabeel fell for her and loved her so...

I loved that scene, and also the one where Rumi tried to wake Zeeshan up but leaves it midway.😳 Cute.

You know what I think, Zeeshan was indeed affected by her during the first time he met her in Nabeel's office. That time, he surely made a joke about her "Chaar Gaz Ki Chaadar!" 😆😆😆
But he always seemed very mystified and inquisitive about what attracted Nabeel to an ordinary girl like Rumaisa? When he didn't have any deficiency of high class girls for him.

And after her marriage to Nabeel, when they were introduced formally for the first time when she brought in tea for him, ironed his clothes and made breakfast for him that was the time, he understood why Nabeel had said that "usme kuch buraa hai hi nahi."
Then after Nabeel's death when he supported her and stood by her he slowly started finding 50% of the truth, Nabeel had told him about Rumaisa during their Brother time together.

And now when he's married to her, he is now finding all the 50% of truth in Nabeel's words and that makes him guilty cuz he left Rumaisa and Maham to their state just after their nikaah. It can be more like he feels, he escaped leaving them to their state just cuz of he wasn't over Rabiya. That's Zeeshan's guilt. The soft look that's there in his eyes when he looks at Rumi and Maham is mainly cuz of that guilt and the fact that he indeed has fallen for her.

In that scene where Zeeshan tells her that no one has forced her to live like a maid in this house, she used to live here earlier too to which she replies that she had Nabeel with her. Being Zeeshan's wife doesn't helps her.
That look in Zeeshan's eyes was that of guilt of leaving her alone in this mess.😳

and who is to say or vouch for the fact people who are submissive in real life, stay one forever either?
even the most meek of beings change or become fiery for the sake of their kids. and this WITHOUT any Nabeel or Zeeshan in their lives.

there are numerous real life examples, one that comes to my mind -

an uneducated mother from a distant village in India from lower caste fights for the rights of her daughter against her husband and her inlaws to ensure her daughter of five gets equal rights to education as her brothers? initially she is beaten up and threatened for her and her daughter's life, hence she abandons them and runs away with her girl to an undisclosed location. ..struggles the whole of her life, to make a living Her daughter grows up to be an engineer and heads asia pacific region of one of the MNCs, and her speech where she mentions the lifestory of her mother and her sacrifices had broken the internet!

Its not uncanny to expect some change from Rumaisa, she is not just a wife, but a mother too! and we all watch shows to see a positive growth in a character dont we? having said that, Ive reiterated this earlier, but I do think UA did not want to show any growth Rumaisa's character sketch on purpose, her focus was on the men in this show..

i cannot believe i am saying this..but our abla naaris may be dumb witted but when it comes to protecting their loved ones they never back down ..i actually lost my cool after seeing little maham being treated the way she is ...

Having said that, I will still say that I felt for Rumaisa just cuz she was a true sufferer of the situations but it just doesn't means that you'll tolerate every damn thing on your self respect and dignity just cuz you're too afraid to protest?! 😕 that's lame.

not once or twice but that man inspite of zeeshan warning him is becoming bold as days go by knowing every well rumiasa will not utter one word ...she is not a victim ,she is just too cowardly and weak to even meekly protest..the whole thing was lame and why i am furious is coz none of them paid for what they did...atleast hassan should have ...the amount of time they spend in showing the nonsense of trying to get zeeshan married off to every girl around ,if only they could have shown some kind of punishment to hassan ,if not all...

And nothing justifies the behavior she's putting up with that Innocent Soul Maham who is as other kids her age should be. Locking her up in the room when she is calling you and looking after other kids?!😕

do not get me started on the whole maham issue...i really want to shake rumiasa so hard and scream at her not that i am going to get any response from her except aap mujhse kyun naraaz hai ,and mujhe khush karne she may actually start roaming like a zombie in my house too

I won't say that I haven't seen submissive people, but everything has a limit. I agree she is insecure and has been considered Manhoos by everyone all her life but that doesn't means she'll continue being a doormat.

exactly..no one teaches you all this..you rise to the situation and react ,even then she had nabeel teaching her stuff but she was too busy with stars and fishes to even process what he was hinting at ...she can treat herself however the way she wants but why drag the innocent maham into your rut knowing very well the child has no one except you...for me there is no poor rumiasa ..it is like someone said poor zeeshan and poor maham ...my heart goes out to these two ...

how long does one fight for you ??

thanks...i was so confused about the guilt part...true that she did intrigue him from start given how nabeel was head over his heels in love with her..and over days at home he realized it as well...the last two episodes has zeeshan just breaking all the hurdles between them and one could actually see and feel the intimacy of a husband dealing with his wife ..it was like all his confusions and guilt were washed away and there was that hope, smile on his face...

i agree with you..the writer had no intention to show any growth in rumiasa ..it was more about the men in the show..first nabeel and then zeeshan ...but i wonder why make a love story if you cannot balance the characters...that it looks more like pity ..

and that is what worked me up..the mother in her turned out like this...i cannot accept any justification for the way she dealt with maham..fine be the servant of the house ,rub your nose on the floor but why treat maham so harsh ..is it not enough that the entire household treats her so bad...she keeps on wailing remembering nabeel but cannot even bring herself to safeguard his flesh and blood ..what use is such mohabbat if it brings nothing in your life...

@sun29 You're welcome. :) You know though I haven't seen the ending but I still feel that Zeeshan Rumaisa should have been given more time to explore their feelings for each other. You know they should have at least have a more intense conversation to take out their feelings.

Rather than showing the useless crap about Hassan Hamna and Wareed Tayyabba or Zesshan's mother whining him to marry again, the makers should have shown some deep scenes for Rumi and Zeeshan. I for one, would have loved that. 😳

I love it how the writer has written zeeshan taking notice of ROMAISAS presence in his life thru the flashback convos he had with nabeel about her
Now that I think of it

It was only with zeeshan that nabeel cud share things about how he feels for her or how she is

Coz each n every other family member used to hate her

I love it how those words didn't mean much to zeeshan that time coz it was just his bro sharing his life with him...yes of course zeeshan indeed used to get happy seeing nabeel happy

But now I love it how he is contemplating on nabeels words he heard about her n trying to accept her

+1 to the disappointing portrayal of Rumaisa as a mother. the only explanation i can offer is that she displaced all the frustration and anger over how others treated her, on Maham, that was her only window of letting out the simmering anger inside her

and that was COMPLETELY WRONG way of dealing with her situation..

on Zeeshan and Rumaisa - I actually dont even look at their connect as a lovestory..Zeeshan being the good hearted soul, owned up to his responsibilities and decided to give his marriage a chance..thats about it..it really was Maham who he had grown so fond of, he dint want to part with her IMO.

but I do think Rumaisa eventually did fall in love with him..more than what she felt for Nabeel even. Zeeshan challenged her and I feel, helped her grow a voice, she seemed a lot more confident towards the end of the show and thats when her last monologue made a lot of sense..

@freelancer...zeeshan and rumi 's journey towards their love story actually started in the last couple of episodes...they did not yet reach there and sadly we did not get to see it but assume given the last scene...

for me zeeshan and rumi had more profound emotions than nabeel and her...nabeel was a wonderful husband ,human but i did not feel the love story there as well..he loved her to the moon and back but rumi wa snot there with him and even he knew that...hence his constant seeking a response from her about him ,asking her to think of him alone ,never leave and go even if he says and then telling her how much he loves her...i am not blaming rumiasa here...the girl never got that chance to even process this whole thing..she was literally swept off her feet by nabeel..married him anxious uncertain and then settled into the good wife role and also the fairytale which he weaved for her...she was like that excited child taken on a trip...and by the time she started realizing and accepting it all, tragedy struck and she resigned to her fate that nothing good can ever happen to her

zeeshan always had a soft corner for rumi, rabia was right...she did intrigue him as to why nabeel was so crazy for her and then his interactions with her ...and then the last few episodes...her relentless care and patience with him ,her kindness and then his guilt of leaving her behind along with maham..it made him rethink...not only the way his expressions would soften looking at her when she is not looking...he was on his way but no yet quite there in love with her...coz he thought loving her would be like how nabeel loved her which he was incapable of not realizing that his care, understanding and compassion as all the other name for love...and as rumi said in the last scene...he will take his own time but will realize one day

the rumi in the last scene was so different from the one in the whole series...she was more confident, mature and at peace...yes she found her subah ka sitara in zeeshan and even her perception of love was so different as per her monologue...she realized that she has found her love in him hence that smile while walking away looking at him ...zeeshan taught her how to live, fight, stand yet he supported her all the way...he was kind ,honest,a perfect father to her kid...it was just matter of time for her to fall in love with him...sadly rabia was too busy pricing him to even notice the gem of a person zeeshan was...

i just wished we had more scenes with rumi zeeshan starting their life together...a couple of more episodes...

nabeel overwhelmed her ,zeeshan brought her back to earth and taught her to walk with him...even then holding her hands ..
