What a clear headed, articulate man! And even though he feels strongly about many things, he is so soft spoken about them. True gentleman. โค๏ธ

Highlights from his interview with Reham Khan on Dawn News channel July 12, 2015:

* Didnt want to do Pyaray Afzal. His friends made fun of the name Pyaray Afzal. He wanted the name to be changed. Humayun Saeed convinced him. Now many people know him as Pyaray Afzal and not by his real name. ๐Ÿ˜†

* He shot to fame within 3 years. He feels bad for those who are 10 times more talented than him but still haven't reached the fame they deserve. He feels his rise in fame has given him more responsibility. That's why he speaks about social and political issues.

*We should break the taboo that if you are from any other field, esp entertainment, you cant talk about religion and other such issues. We can only progress as a society if we let go of this attitude.

* Never wanted to be a hero. Loved character roles.

* He is not concerned about effects of his views over his career because to make him or break him is in Allah's hands, not people. And once you genuinely believe this, it really liberates you.

* RK about Hamza: Some people deserve all the fame and success they get because they are not planning for it.

* RK: My producer is also Abbasi and Abbasis are dheet.
HAA: We call ourselves ziddi, others may call us dheet. ๐Ÿ˜†

* He is not choosy about projects because of politics. He has always been selective and that's why doesn't do many projects. Concentrates on quality rather than quantity. He does it as a passion and therefore does only the work that he enjoys, rather than as a compulsion.

* Had always wanted to be in entertainment as he was doing theater in his youth. His mom is from a rural background and there doing CSS is considered very prestigious. So she asked him to pass it and then can pursue entertainment, so at least she ll be able to tell people he is smart and hardworking enough to clear CSS. He just chose not to pursue a career in it. ๐Ÿ˜†

* Ishq kabhi nahi hua zindagi mein. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have unfortunately not had that feeling yet that I cant live without this person and want to marry her. When I find her, I'll marry her the next day.

* Once he liked a lady and he spoke to Imran Khan about it, who advised him that marry a woman who has
the same life direction as you. So since he himself is very opinionated, the last thing he wants is to end up with a person who doesn't have any opinions. They can be different than his, but she has to have them.

* Mom had kept him away from fear from childhood, as she herself is very fearless person. If he is scared of something, he feels insulted in his own eyes.

* Maula Jutt is Hamza's up coming film. RK auditioned for it in front of him during the break in the show but her Punjabi didnt make it. ๐Ÿ˜†

* The pace of cinema revival in Pakistan is very fast. He sees it making great strides in next 10 years. He is very excited to be a part of this procedure and therefore doesn't see himself going to BW, despite some good offers. But he has nothing against actors going there.

* We Pakistanis instead of always showing Pakistan in a negative light, need to show it as it is, which isn't as bad as we make it out to be.

* Every Pakistani needs to have a political opinion. Because when good people stop coming into politics, we are ruled by scum of the society.

* He prefers theater over film and TV. It's a raw medium with instant audience feedback. and you enjoy it as an artist. So theater will always stay his first love.

* Advice to people wanting to come into this field - finish your education first. Don't come here solely for fast track fame. Be ready to invest years. Fame and success could come within a month or it could be 10 yrs.

He is such a well spoken and well mannered person, he is charasmatic and has a passion for his work as well as his country. Sach mein is bande se phir se pyar ho gaya hai ye interview sun kar, there is something in his personality jo bohut attractive hai, is ki baatein banda sunta hi rahe lol Awaz tau kamal hai hi. Loved the part jahan RK ne kaha you'll not tolerate a woman who has opinion radically different to yours but he was quick to say that is OK but he just doesn't want to end up with a person who has no opinions whatsoever. Which shows he is really tolerant towards other people's opinion about time people start respecting his opinion too...He doesn't enforce those on anyone and there is no harm in expressing what he feels

I know.. It's his reputation of a really hard headed person and then you listen to him and he comes across as this soft spoken man, with some real principles, and you cant help getting impressed. Doesn't matter if you agree with his views or not. He is extremely respectful of opposing views and he never raises his voice to make a point. Gentleman to the core! ๐Ÿ‘
