Though I lijed Asher the dad, I felt heaet broken seeing the helplessness of the man being a parent. As sundas said, in totality, humsafar is depressing and somehow emotionally drains you. Every character suffered and that too endlessly and you also get affected by that suffering. Except for khizer, I felt bad for every one including Sara and Fareeda. But still as I absoultely love post leap episodes for Fawad performance, so I guess no point in complaining.

Though Fareeda was a terible mother who in blindness of hatred ruined her own son 's life to sooth her bruised ego. But from her point of view she always wanted everything best for Asher as a mother what his father failed to acknowledge. Moreover she always thought Asher was in a compromise and only her the mother can make things right by freeing him from that miaery. It was her justification of what she did and if you look at it from a mother's perspective that too a obcessed mother, you can see that though she was extremely wrong and cruel, bt her basic intention was to give happiness to her child. Thats why when in the climax she says to Asher- aur kisi bhi cheese pe yakken mat rakhna par itna yaad rakhna ke tumhari maa ne tuse bahat mohabbat ki hai and she was purely genuine in that. Thats why when Asher told aapne mujhe jeete ji maar doya, aao meri maa nahi ho sakti, her world which was primarily belonged to her only child, came crashing down and she just lost control over herself. The harsh words from the most precious person in her life finally gave the reality check to her which she was deying and thus she just lost herself. Her becoming insane made me feel bad as I felt as a mother she wished right but her deeds were disgusting yo say the least.

Thats true. But no amount of justification and love is enough for what she did to Khirad.

Yes and the scene for which I can use the word that I truly HATED Fareeda when post p call by Asher, she wished it would have been better if Hareem died. Maa beti dono hi dheeth hai or something. I was like please someone shoot this woman. 😡

yuop n that 2 when she was prego n then challenging her to prove that khired's child was of Asher as well. She directly ruined 3 lives n indirectly 7 including her life as well.

As I said earlier, I still dnt get why Asher was portrayed so helpkess throughout, he was always victimised and the thing which I hold against him that he never wanted to take the control of the situation and spell it out whats his wishes are and atleast try to get out of the misery. He was always celebrating the misery and that I did not like one bit.
