'Want to try Hindi, Pakistani, Chinese, Swedish and even Hollywood films', says 'Khoobsurat' star Fawad Khan.
After Humaima Malik made her grand debut in Bollywood a week back with 'Raja Natwarlal', stage is almost ready for another Pakistani actor to set Indian screens ablaze in a matter of two weeks from now. But Fawad Khan is not just another new face. Having received all the appreciation and adulation for his TV stint in the country, Fawad definitely isn't like another ordinary newbie.
'Zindagi Gulzar Hai' has already made him a household name and that definitely will help his upcoming film- 'Khoobsurat'. "It definitely gets your foot on the door! You speak of production, I think it is not just a mark. It raises the bar of expectations people have from you. As an actor, you would like to meet those expectations and not fall below them, anyway. for me, it is an honour and I am flattered with the way people have shown their love for me. I feel privileged which many people don't really get so early in their lives", Fawad gently explains how the 'Zindagi' appreciation has increased everyone's expectations from the film.
Being another cross border phenomenon, Fawad is keeping his options open. While he does not want to stick to a particular brand of films, Fawad wants to try out different avenues. " I am going to try everything under the sun because I think that this is growing up and I would love to! I did not have the luxury to see the world as much as I have had it during my career. I think traveling adds a lot of exposure to one's character, I think it opens you up to a whole new world. It is an education. The more you travel, the more exposure you get and the more you meet different kinds of people from different walks of life. Especially when you get to walk amongst those people without getting noticed, you get more chance of observing them. There is more chances of learning and not judging. I guess I am the last person who would judge someone. I feel if you travel, you get more liberated and educated. Your opportunity to judge also reduces by much because you are so much aware of everything. I would like that for myself, to work in a Swedish film or a Chinese film which might be a very big industry and I might not even know about it that much! I would love to juggle between as many countries as possible, as many cinemas as possible"
'Khoobsurat' being a remake of cult Hindi classic, comparisons are bound to happen. But the actor holds on to his ground and explains how the two films are different. "I'll be very honest but I had not watched the film until I got the offer. I watched the film after I was told about it. I had not seen it earlier but I had done my homework when I read the script. When I told it was a remake, then I did watch it to see where the inspiration is coming from", Fawad signed off with a smile.
