We have great misunderstanding because of recent shows coming from few years that we never had some quality shows . Here giving some Tube links inks of the quality ones Which may be many have not seen . Agree that Zindgi Gulzar has spoilt me for Hindi shows and liking the other ones coming on Zindgi channel . KGBH is one of them , precise with story and about woman which goes for both of sides and when i write both of sides i really do not want to write As our problems are same .

Here is one Sarabhai VS Sarabhai

This one was on Sab Tv .

Love Story - Episode - 1

FARMAN Ep 1 Part 1

This was DJ,s show with strong story line .Worth watching

Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Episode 1...You tube link

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlcDxGtQMVQ

We had quality shows but after K factpor TV world changed and then TRP is the main culprit which has ruined the creativity . Writers have to compromise as end of the day its business for the concerned parties /.

Love story was fabulous. I still love Mishal for doing Love story. Anurag Basu is a good producer.
Sarabhai vs Sarabhai is a classic. Hats off productions make the best light-hearted shows. You should try their Baa, Bahu aur Baby season one. I loved it.
Star one had some fantastic shows when it was launched. There was Guns and Roses which I loved, Hotel Kingston-another favourite, Remix if you like school based stuff- not a particularly great show though.
I will add as I remember. I was only two years old when Shaanti and stuff came out, so I hardly remember the Doordarshan era.
Indian TV had good historical shows like Jhaansi ki Rani, Chandrakanta too.

Yes i remember , there were works from famous authors . Khandan was one with brilliant actors from theater also . Yes Star One started with different kind of shows with freshness . In fact i found the links on You Tube of these shows so posted . Many Indians may not have seen these shows . If you find any link then post here .

Speaking of the 90's shows. I remember Shanti and Saans. Mature topics, but they were dealt with very well.
In terms of comedy,tu tu main main and hum paanch were classics ! I loved tu tu main main more though

Historicals were class! BR chopra's mahabharatha and Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan were so good, people actually used to touch Arun Goyal's feet coz he was so impactful as Shri Ram.
And my dad keeps telling me about this show-Chanakya. He used to love that show!

Also I dont know how many of you'll remember but zee had a show called "Rishtey" which featured telefilms. Some really nice stories. If it may interest you,Imtiaz Ali's Highway,he had first directed as a telefilm and it had aired in Rishtey.

Speaking of recent times,I maybe a bit biased towards this show, but this show was very well researched by the Sagars(10 years),and the first 100 odd episodes were brilliant-Prithviraj Chauhan. The screenplay and execution was class. And this show gave quite a competition in terms of TRP to the saas bahu shows when kyunki and kahaani were peaking! even though it was a just weekend show. But yes the TRp baaba caught them too,the last 50 odd episodes were a dragfest.

Chandragupta Maurya was another good one in recent times. it abruptly ended though coz of channel shutting down. Very intelligent script.

Even Jhansi ki Rani was quite good! Sarabhai ofcourse can never be forgotten.

Oh grt!! Sarabhai vs sarabhai is my all time fav show n tu tu main main n miley jab hum tum as well.. Watched all its repeat on starone n star utsav.N I agree that recent trend in Indian show changed our views abt Indian shows. Thats what I wrote in other thread that quality of Indian soaps ruined with arrival of K factor, before that there were masterpieces from DD era n more.N in current scenario only youth channels r giving realistic shows.

Of the recent shows I liked Jee Le Zara on Sony. It never got really successful but for 100 or so episodes it was very good with hardly any negativity. The leads had good chemistry and many things were realistically shown. Since it wasnt much of a success they didnt get much of a chance to butcher the show.
