hello every one,
i am new to his forums and from Pakistan. I have already seen ZGH and s great fan of this particular serial. Well I have seen many people calling Zaroon a male chauvinist which is wrong. The story is representing a social life of Karachi (I am not referring whole Pakistan because the states or cities they differ in many matters) . Well in society where we live here the youngsters have become liberal more than the limits ... Zaroon is representing the the group of men who are "protective" towards the females of their families not "over protective" ... asking sister to come back home on time, or be careful while going out guys is definitely not wrong specially when every day rape cases are being reported. Or expecting mother to act wisely while supporting daughter even when she is wrong is also right ... it is quite evident that if Zzaroon would have compromise wit Aasmara what would have been happened to their married life ...

Kashaf on the other hand is a lady representing today's woman ... powerful, intelligent and strong in character .. zaroon likes her or love her for her strong character only. she is someone whom he could trust blindly and who can be a better half in a true sense!

i agree with you.
I neer found Zaroon a male chauvinist.I can very well understand his POV.Its not like he asked his sister or asmara to sit at home and do household chores. He just tell them to be safe.In case of asmara..well he has seen his parents. How his mother was too liberal and father continued to compprmise which hampered him and sara.He chose not to lead that life. Its was his forsight. He unnderstood that asmara will never compormise or understand his POV.So according to me he is not a male chauvinist.

I think the male chauvinists in this show are Kashraf's uncle and father and not Zaroon. If Zaroon was a chauvinist he wouldnt have any clear reasoning for what he says apart from X is a woman and I am a man.

no he was. his entire attitude was - Asmara was good enough to hang around with/ to date but not good enough to marry. and that is just deeply offensive.

I dont think he ever thought Asmaira wasnt good enough to marry. If that was the case he would have never got engaged to her to begin with. Or cancelled the engagement as soon as they started having differences. Its just that he realized he has certain expectations from his wife which Asmaira didnt agree to fulfill. So seeing Sara's example in front of himself and instead of going thru with the wedding and then separating he preferred a break up before marriage.

Murtaza and his brother are full-fledged chauvinists. They have zero respect for any women in their lives.
Zaroon isn't like that .All he seeks-equal status between his wife and himself, and that's why he may seem as a chauvinist at times. But all he wants,is to be able to have a say in a relationship with his spouse.
While his dad hardly gets a say with his mother. That's what is making him feel, that a woman is allowed to be free, but she should also consider what he would like and not like.

He doesn't want his wife to yell at him, just like she expects him not to.

Asmara made a fuss every time Zaroon spoke the girls in their class, then why can't he?

And most men today are like Zaroon. W e would be kidding ourselves if we say our husband/boyfriends would not 'mind' if we roam around at night with our 'male' friends. Asmara could have asked him to come along with her if it was so necessary for her to go at night right? Or maybe she could meet her friends in the morning. She wasn't ready to budge, and thus the uproar.

Zaroon is a hypocrite,I agree. But he isn't a chauvinist. He doesn't expect his wife to polish his shoes,he only wishes that his wife discusses about her whereabouts. ANd that's fair. Come on.

He is like any other guy, except he is a bit more classy and 'suljhaa hua".He know what he wants,he always had second thoughts about Asmara. But he believed that once they get engaged, she would if not change, atleast mend her ways.

Men today, wanna have all sorts of fun with these carefree upbeat women, but snap at the idea of marrying the same!

Im not saying Zaroon is right or wrong. He has been wrong at times, just as he been right at times.

@aa8684 Agree with you 😊 Zaroon Junaid is no Male Chauvinist.

a male chauvinist is a male who patronizes, disparages, or otherwise denigrates females in the belief that they are inferior to males and thus deserving of less than equal treatment or benefit.

I don't see Zaroon fitting the bill as a male chauvinist no. Expecting every female to fawn over you coz they have been doing so far or asking your sister to not be out till odd times in fear of her safety or her reputation or asking her not to take her fiance for granted or treat her husband like a very ignored pet puppy or asking ur close female friend or girlfriend to not dress in a manner that would attract unwanted male attention or wanting your mother to give more time to you and your family or thinking it all through and not wanting to marry a girl if there is serious lack of compatibility when it comes to important matters does not a chauvinist make 😆
