Like I said before, Zaroon is a product of his upbringing. This is a guy so used to female adoration that any hint of opposition displeases him. Kashaf rightly points out, he is a handsome, rich, educated, talented guy- obviously he has grown up with female fanaticism over him. And here is this girl, Kashaf, who is, or appears to be, completely oblivious to him. Zaroon takes everything about Kashaf personally. She disturbs him, affects him and he wants to make her into one of his fangirl clones. I like how realistic and flawed Zaroon is. I mean, I understand why Zaroon is the way he is, why he does what he does. Like a man used to receive complete attention, he demands attention from Kashaf. She, too, is not oblivious. Her subtle shift when Zaroon slides next to her, the way she is almost uncomfortable when he looks down at her face to say hello- everything points to her growing discomfort with Zaroon, which was not there before because she was oblivious.

Beautifully written star_girl. Two incidents stood out for me - when Zaroon asks Sara to fix his button, and second, when he accuses his mom of never being there and leading her own life. Goes to show that Zaroon is looking for a traditional girl for a wife, who he expects to be homely. He also doesn't seem to have his fathers patience and so will be a demanding husband. In this how will he and fiercely independent and defiant kashaf get along together, remains to be seen!

Fabulous post indeed.
Well,Zaroon is one of those characters u instantly like, but then he takes u by surprise when he occasionally displays such instances of chauvinism.

He represents the typical Indian male(in this case,Pakistani male. We are so alike. Have to,we share the same ancestors afterall) who hangs around with all these "upbeat" women, have all sorts of "fun",but when it comes to a life partner, they want a traditional "homely" wife.

Absolute double standards! All Their college life, they dont even put "ghaas" to these "homely" girls, but when it comes to marriage, banda U-turn maar leta hai 😆

I love the fact that they've kept him so real. Although, there is a feeling that this behavior of his will change sooner than later.

You just cannot "not like" Zaroon, you know. 😆 Such a charmer he is.

@ bold - you've nailed it perfectly. Zaroon - handsome, smart, stylish, rich, intelligent, a dude with an attitude and a dash of arrogance that only makes him more attractive.

No wonder, girls can't resist him, and Fawad has played Zaroon with just the right amount of "bad boy" to make him irresistible.

Contrast to usama, the sweet and uncomplicated friend, his sweetness becoming the very reason that makes him less appealing than Zaroon.

Asmara I guess is too much like Sara and his mom, and that has sent warning bells ringing for he just cannot see himself spending his life with a woman, whose world doesn't revolve around her home and him.

Well, we in india and I guess Pakistan, too have grown around such men and I guess do understand where they are coming from!

Yes, me too waiting to see how soon Zaroon puts kashaf in his pocket. Of course, I am guessing that Zaroon is in for a shock, for what he has started as a game, will turn serious for him, and he will fall for kashaf, maybe before she will fall for him!

Can't wait to see how this game is played!

you put it exactly as it was...The episode was totally about "how dare she". The thing that offended me the most was Murtaza blaming Rafia for getting cheated by his own brother. Wasn't he the one who said that she should quit the house as his brother ordered and how he does not wish to involve himself. Now he is pissed that he lost money plus his wife did not even take his permission or advice before moving.
I loved how Rafia almost ignored him when he visited her. I wish Kashaf had seen that scene. She would have been proud of her father.

Zaroon is a very typical male and it does not help that women flock around him as if he were some demi-God. He is chauvinistic, double-standard' and egoistic. Yet, you cannot hate him.

Murtaza is spineless and completely manipulated by his wife and brother, with no independent thought of his own. Acc to yesterday's epi, his brother was behind his remarriage too. Now Rafia's pride and dignity bother all of them, and they can't understand why refuses to be at their mercy. Rafia is an admirable woman who valiantly carries on, and does allow her adversities to embitter her. This is one quality that kashaf must learn from her mother.

Not only can we not hate Zaroon, I think we too are in line, like all other girls. 😉 And it's incomprehensible to him why kashaf is immune to him. He assumes that it's a case of sour grapes - not very modest, our man is

Murtaza, hateful he is, and he and wife won't even leave Rafia and girls alone in peace. He wants them to obey his every command as their father, but he doesn't want to fulfill his own responsibilities.

As for kashaf, yes, inspite of herself, Zaroon fascinates her and though at one level she resents him for the fact that everything has come so easily to him, but she can't stop thinking about him. A complex set of emotions she has for him.

Right now his intentions don't seem very good, but I am sure he will evolve and learn to respect women in general and kashaf in particular

Murtaza's wife is impossible..n so his whole family...yeah..he is alwayz like telling Rafia n daughters...joote padenge...what the hell...y they will get bullshits...u n yor family deserve that...n m sure will get that soon too😡😡
xactly mixed emotions...as somewhere she says...Why Allah alwayz bless these ppl with everything...name fame...seerat soorat...at the other end...she thinks about him..she thinks that Asmara is lucky...she gets evrything so easily...where i guess she dun likes that why Asmara is Zaroon's frn or GF😛...dun worry Kashaf soon u'll get all what u deserve😳

m so waiting for that when his intentions will b so genuine for Kashaf😳😳

Lovely post.. I was somewhere disappointed with Zaroon today... He did behave as a male chauvinist. I had liked him till yesterday and agreed his viewpoint about everything. Be it his sister taking her fiance for granted or his mother giving less time to family or his comment on Asmara's dressing style (though I found her dressing ok) or not taking Asmara to a place where he felt is not safe for girls...
But yesterday he was only thinking of how he can make Kashaf fall for him and not only that he tried to woo her with his fake apology... Very wrong... He was even thinking how long before she falls for his charm I hope Kashaf does not fall for him and precap looks even more interesting..

Now coming to Murtaza's second family (Dont even consider him to be part of his first and lovely family) 😡😡 Wow his brother cheated him with the property and what he did?? Blame Rafia ji 😡
I better not talk about his greedy, rude, arrogant mean wife 😡😡

What an appropriate title for the post Arshi, isnt it the most repeated question asked to women when they do not follow so called set rules for being woman in the patriarchial society? Murtaza and Zaroon both are product of that society only and their reactions arenot at all surprising. Rafia withoit creating much hungama moving away without husband help hurt murtaza ego whereasKashaf not getting affected by prince charming Zaroon hurt his inflated ego. So these two are not following conventional rules of being woman and thus men in their lives are dumbstruck, irritated and shows their true colors. That is nothing but methods and tricks to make them learn what she is supposed to do. Will they succeed? Time will tell. I love Murtazawomen for their independent natire both mentally and socially. Bit do they really remain unaffected by men and their approach towards them? No, not at all, thus we see Rafia still atyached with Murtaza and wishing he remains that pillar which make her choldren safe from social questions. On the other hand Kashaf gets afgected by Xaroon because he is the only male in her life who makes her concious, gives that much needed attention which she craves for and may be she finds him as a puzzle too. One thing is sure laws of attraction are difficult to avoid in a man woman dynamics and zaroon kashaf are latest victims.

Regarding Zaroon and Muryaza being same and synonymous, arent basic male traits are alike and Y linked? Atleast I believe they are geneetically controlled and thus all are different sides of same coins. But Zaroon is surely more mannered with sophisticated persona and in the longbrun a leser cruel man than Murtaza. Murtaza never invesyed emotions in any of the relationships and thus never had any introspection. But Zaroon will invest his emotions and surely will try to resurrect his mistakes, thats thd only hope. The genuine heart will make the distinction between these two men.
