Well what do you know!
I was so shocked to see how brutally they were all murdered...especially the dad who had to watch his kids being shot, thrown off the balcony and his mother shot point blank in the head
Such a grim moment in such a light-hearted show...

Anyways, I've always thought that the father was pointing to Peter when he thought he murdered him, but probably he was mistaken. Yesterday's scene clearly showed Peter with gun in hand when the dad was dying...which led me to 2 theories:

1) It is Peter's evil twin. Perhaps he was sent to jail and now Peter blames himself because he feels personally responsible for his brother's role.

2) It really was Peter, but he wasn't there to kill them, but instead save them. From what we saw, the dad only saw Peter at the last moment, but not anytime before. I believe Peter actually came in to try to save them but failed. Also, he may have had some idea who actually did the murder (as the dad mentions that it was because he did not take a bribe) and therefore blames himself for not being able to prevent it.

I'm more inclined towards option 2. In any case, Peter is too nice and good a person to have ever brutally killed an entire family, that too people whom he was close to. He seems to have lost the most in this show - his friends, his wife and his son - which makes him even more pitiable than Yug who has been alone since the start. Maybe that's why he empathises with Yug enough to repeatedly help him out.

I'm excited to see what happens in the future...

After the past few episodes, I feel like Peter may have had a bigger hand than we think.
I still don't believe he actually set out to kill the family, but from his and Suraj's conversations, he may have somehow helped the actual killer to either gain access to the house or done something which made killing the entire family much easier. In the flashbacks, I think Peter was probably more worried about Suraj's safety than the money and hence tried to convince Suraj to take the money.

The small flashback about Sophia's mother is likely related to the event. Maybe after Peter found out about the killings, he tried to inform the police who killed his wife. So to save Sophia, he has kept quiet all these years.

Really quite intrigued about the mystery...

It's also possible that maybe Peter was not involved in the mass murder but he is guilty about not reporting the same or even testifying the against the real culprit who is probably his boss for which he was getting paid and even promoted because of which he has become a minister now. But I don't understand the nightmare he had in today's episode where the ghost family was telling sophia that Peter had murdered them which in a way means he is indirectly admitting that he only killed them so yeah I can't help but wonder if he is the killer or not.

Oooh I haven't watched the latest episode yet, but if that's the case - maybe he really does feel extremely guilty about his indirect role in the murders.

I've stated before that I believe Peter looks at Yug as a kindred spirit - in the sense that Yug has his family and Peter has also lost many people in his life. Peter has been shown to be a rather positive character and definitely Yug is very optimistic too.

Hence I believe Peter's thoughts are most likely an exaggeration of his guilt in their deaths. I also agree with your theory that he was likely paid for whatever role he played in the crime and probably feels like he does not deserve it maybe (hence he is so generous). He also talks about the well-being of the citizens of Bastora - I don't think he is lying and therefore he can't be so evil.

With regards to whether he pulled the trigger himself, I'm really hoping he did not because thus far it seems inconsistent with his personality. Maybe he was supposed to actually Peter but he could not bring himself to it, hence the killers killed his wife?

That may also be true but what I also find intriguing is his fear of entering the palekar mansion. If he is innocent with minimal involvement in their murder then the only thing he should display is guilt and remorse.. What is he actually afraid of?? The Palekars were like his family why should he fear them?? It would be better if he gives them an explanation of what happened so they stop blaming him for their death alone as we've seen in the flash backs where Peter tried many times to warn Suraj about their boss but it was Suraj who had ignored him due to his honest nature which eventually led to the annhilation of his entire clan. But I also understand that this will probably be revealed later and is a strategic way of keeping the audience hooked to the show.

Or he knws d killers for sure but hid d truth thts y living wid guilt..? Many things r possible but he's connected but he did not kill coz if we see d FBs peter didn't shoot..
