SHYAMALA AUNTY

TOO MANY CCs ARE CONFUSING ME 😆

AND HENCE I SENT THE PM AS MY REPLY TO YOUR ANALYSIS

HENCEFORTH I WILL STICK TO THIS THREAD FOR COMMENTS ON YOUR POSTS

AS I HAVE WRITTEN IN THE REPLY,

SOUL TALK WAS DONE BEAUTIFULLY. IT WAS A PLEASURE TO EXPERIENCE

JODHA LOOKED PRETTY, BUT HAD TOO MANY DIALOGUES IN THE VERY FIRST EPISODE. IN HINDSIGHT IT SEEMED TO ME THAT EKTA WAS WARNING US OF WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE FUTURE 😉

OM PURI'S JALLAD JALAL VOICE OVER ALMOST SEEMED TO SET A TONE TO THE FACT THAT JALAL WAS A BAD GUY OR A CRIMINAL, AND THAT HE NEEDED TO BE REFORMED. AND THIS WOULD BE DONE BY DEAR JODHA 😆. NOWHERE DID HE EVEN MENTION THE GREATNESS OF THE EMPEROR WHO, AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE, RULED OVER HINDUSTAN

BAIRAM KHAN'S DULL BARITONE, LOOKS AND DEMEANOR ENHANCED HIS PERFORMANCE MANIFOLD. HIS DIALOGUES WERE VERY POWERFUL TOO

OF COURSE, JALAL WAS AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO BEHOLD 😳

LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR POST ON EPISODE 2

PRECAP SEEMED INTERESTING 😆

Shyamala, your post is a treat. I know you will not make new posts for the episodes that you have already covered but some modification in them too will be interesting to see the change in perceptions from watching them then and now.
Now to the episodes, the positives-
1 The portrayal of Bairam Khan by Naved was spot on. He is one of those unsung heroes. His part ended before the serial got really popular. But in hindsight, we can see how brilliant an actor he is.

2 I always like you your psychological insights. That mirror interpretation was inspired.

3 The return of the fierce, angry at the world Jalal. How we have missed him.

4 Jodha looks very beautiful and graceful. There is freshness in the acting, which slogging for innumerable hours over the next two years will slightly erode.

Shyamala just as many show a great scorn to money so also they show scorn to the warrior's sword and the blood it draws - I seriously don't understand this holier than thou attitude - Akbar was not the first to have the desire to expand - we have Ashoka, Raja Raja Chola, Kanishka.

As for this show - its one single saving grace is Rajat - at the very start EK has called the Mughals as paapis who need to be sudharoed by Begumsa - Someone shd tell EK and her avid viewers who swallowed every thing that she dished out as the gospel truth that there are no black and white in life however much many may want it - Life is a Rainbow with a multitude of colours of every hue - and Akbar had all the hues of all the colors in him like all other legends who came before and after him - that is why they are legends.

N then, wasn't BM himself a mahaa paapi who usurped the rightful heir Sujamal's throne for his own son? ??...apart from trading his daughter for the throne with the biggest "paapi" 😎 of all??? 😉

Y doesn't Jo offer BM's head to kali ma???

AFTER THE GREAT FIRST EPISODE,THE SECOND ONE WAS A DISAPPOINTMENT, AND A BIG ONE AT THAT

JODHA'S DIALOGUES, EXPRESSIONS AND OVERALL PERDORMANCE WAS HUGELY OTT. THE WHOLE MOTI SOING JAUHAR AND JODHA CONSOLING AND STOPPING HER WAS TOO MUCH FOR ME TO BEAR

SHAUGUNI BAI WAS WOBBLING A BIT TOO MUCH, I THOUGHT. HER APPEARANCE WAS OFF PUTTING. IN THE LATER EPISODES, SHE IS QUITE A BIT BETTER, I MUST SAY. 😉 HYPERVATI WAS VERY VERY HYPER 😆. AND TODAY SHE WAS SPRINTING I STEAD OF JODHA 😆

JALAL'S LEG CUTTING OF SHOE THIEF WAS QUITE OFF AS WELL. ALMOST FELT LIKE OM PURI'S VOICE OVER WAS STILL IN THE BACKGROUND, ONLY WE COULD. NOT HEAR IT

KHAN BABA'S EXPRESSIONS WHILE HIS PROTEGE WAS RECOUNTING THE VIRTUES OF A HEARTLESS WARRIOR WERE VERY GOOD, BUT DID NOT DO MUCH

JALAL'S SMIRK WAS AWESOME, BUT SOMETHING WAS MISSING

SOMEHOW I DID NOT LIKE THE EPI TODAY

TOTALLY MY POV

Ruqaiya begum was actually played by 2 different actors. ...
But why does it appear as if Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar was also played by 2 different actors? ???😕

I have visited Agra four times, but somehow never managed to get to Sikandra. Three times it was with VVIP foreign delegations and Sikandra was not on their programme, and when I went to Agra at 12, my father did not take us to Sikandra. So Jodha's tomb is so near Akbar's!

Shyamala

Yes shyamala...Jo and Jallu's tombs are very near...But Jallu's tomb is really maintained well and Jo's tomb not so well...It fills me with sadness to see Jo's tomb's condition...Which must have been really grand once upon a time...I live 20/25 minutes ( by road) far from Sikandara..
