now you know whom to blame if you don't see me on your tv any time soon: Malaika Arora |
Says Malaika, "Bakhtiyaar definitely has a huge chip on his shoulder. Zara Nach Ke Dikha was my fourth reality show, but I've never encountered such bad behaviour."
Sore losers
The male contestants staged an en masse walkout at the grand finale after they realised they were losing. A livid Malaika says, "Can you believe what sore losers men can be? I've always maintained that the male ego is the worst thing in the world. There's no way we women can deal with it. But to come on a reality show, promise to be sporting, and then walk out saying the judges didn't know their jobs was honestly a bit too much. I was aghast."
Temper tackle
Adds Malaika. "I lost my temper and I'm not ashamed of it. The guys really behaved badly, especially Bakhtiyaar, who I noticed had an attitude problem from Day One. He can't take defeat. Since the show was formatted as a men-versus-women thing it was only natural that either the boys or the girls would win. But Bakhtiyaar and the other boys just spoilt three months of the time we all spent together as a family on the show."
What appalled Malaika even more was the fact that Bakhtiyaar actually blasted guest-judge Saroj Khan. "I couldn't believe what I heard when I saw Bakhtiyaar lashing out at Sarojji. Bakhtiyaar really needs to put his ego to rest before going another reality show."
The grand finale was not the only time Malaika faced-off with Bakhtiyaar. "Once earlier, I had intervened on behalf of my colleague Chunky Pandey. The boys proved Indian men treat women as the weaker sex. Luckily, I have a husband who treats me as an equal. Who knows how my son will turn out!"
The experience has embittered Malaika and she may not do another reality show for a while. "In any case, I'd like to take a big break between two shows."
