Shrikant had good relations with Bhau,was friends with him
Bhau had immense support of chawl people,so police couldn't arrest him.Asked Shrikant to lead them to Bhau.Shrikant refuses.So the police kidnap Survi & force him to do so.Mayhem ensues.Bhau is killed.Aniket is shot in the leg & crippled for life
Tai wants to kill Shrikant but Survi intervenes.Is about to kill Survi when police stop Tai.
Kartik is mad at Shrikant for betraying Bhau.Shrikant makes him see the illegality of his ways.Wants him to lead an honest life.Fearing for their life police make Shrikant & Survi go to Dubai.Before leaving Shrikant names Kartik the owner of his house.

Kartik - 23 yrs
Kartik heeding to Shrikant's words had given up his old ways.Was now a rich & successful businessman
Tai still intent on revenge finds out Shrikant is in Dubai.Implicates him in a false case.Shrikant is jailed.
Shrikant calls up Kartik.Kartik had been looking for them for the past 4 years
Kartik makes the 'Vaada' to protect Survi,take care of her no matter what.

Kartik brings Survi home to India
To cut the story short Tai & her kids do everything to harm Survi but its Kartik who would save her,protect her,care for her,love her,would be willing to do anything for her.
Survi eventually falls in love with Kartik.
Kartik gets increasingly attached to Survi so as to say to her "Mein tere bina jee nahin paunga".This makes Tai insecure
So she hatches this grand plan.Brings in this girl Vishakha,stages a fake rape attempt & Kartik agrees to marry her.Survi realises Tai is in on this too.
Survi tries to make Kartik see the truth but fails to prove.Tai realises Survi is in love with Kartik.Threatens to kill Kartik if she continues to be a part of his life.
Survi leaves.Tai writes up a false letter & all.
Lata tries to tell Kartik the truth,is pushed off the building by Tai
Fast forward 8 years
Survi & Shrikant still are leading a separate life away from Kartik to make sure Tai doesn't harm him.Kartik is a changed person.Hurt,sad & angry at Survi for leaving him.Also blamed Survi for Lata's condition
