The day had finally arrived... It was a happy chaos all around .. Celebrations and cheers filing the hallway.. Both brides had arrived in Majumdar house as weddings were planned in mansion upon request of Ravindra Majumdar.
Brides were getting ready in the rooms specially reserved for them..
Asmita was tensed, her fears were coming true... She would be of someone else in front of his Shantanu ..How can she let this happen.. Tears clouding her eyes...She had to control her feelings.. She had to keep on this mask..till she finds any clue to save her Shantanu.. She was alone in her room as everyone left bride alone at her request..She wanted to be by herself...Just her and torment that she was going through which only one man could have understood.. had he ever understood.. There was a knock on the door..
Please leave me alone...I will be out in few moments... Please.. She said as her voice broke... But the door still opened...as usual Shantanu had not listen ..
She looked at the door...there he was standing looking at her .. Tears were common between them.. if only they could speak. He came towards her as she looked away..
What do you want now...? Again want to remind me of my status.. or may be cursing fate for the day I was born.. or may be hurting me more for not loving your brother but you instead... !
Questions were left unanswered.. as She saw a slight smile on Shan's lips..and eyes full of tears that were just fighting a battle to come out.. He said nothing..just came towards her and kept staring at her..
.How beautiful she looked , dressed as a bride.. Bright red color..she always had loved it.. that big red bindi on her forehead.. she looked totally like an Angel.. his angel..
He gulped and said in low voice..
I know I have hurt you a lot.. Everytime.. Puchki , but I just couldn't resist myself from coming here today.. He barely managing to keep his emotions in check..as he continued with a brief pause..
If choti ma would have been here , she would have felt really happy seeing you like this.. even Badi maa is not here and Pathan baba could not come.. so I thought you will need your friend.. I wanted to be that friend tonight Puchki , your bondhu.
He came closer to her.. placed his hand on her head.. in a way to bless her for the uncertain life about to unfold..
I wish you get so much love from your new life that you forget this friend of yours forever..
His voice cracked up at this but he continued..
I wish that Ridoy's love will wipe away tears that my love have given you.. You will get so much love that you will move on to life of your dreams soon..
And you , Will you be able to forget me and move on..? She asked holding his. hand and looked at him with those eyes reading through his heart ..his soul ...He looked away..he knew he could not lie to her tonight. He just didn't want to..His silence answered her question as tears rolled down her cheeks...
He gently caressed her cheeks to wipe those tears away A Heart was breaking inside and so loud was the noise that his Puchki could hear every bit of it. Yet he looked at her with her face cuddled in his hands...gently ..how he wished to give her smile but was always reason for her tears..His Puchki would be someone else's bride in sometime..how badly he wanted to hold the time..his love..his life..his friend... his everything was standing in front of him..but he could never reach out to hold as it remained forever like a Mirage!
He kissed her forehead as Goodbye and wished her life full of light so what if his was going in dark!
