spoiler ahead if you haven't watched today's episode yet

I am so glad Bade papa mentioned that Meenu's behavior is mental harassment for Mishti and there are laws against it 😈 (thank god writer included that dialogue). BP rocks 👍🏼 normal audience needs to remember it too! 🤓

I just love the way he said he will call police and put her behind bars. can they show that actually? she at least needs to spend one night in jail! 😡 for instigating mishti to leave her house, for trying to force her son to marry out of his will (not that he gives two hoots to it, still), for cheating on another girl's family etc. etc

My husband's uncle had actually done that for his daughter. She was not treated well in her sasuraal and they were mentally harassing her daily. So he finally called the police and the in-laws were behind bar. Ek raat main akal theekane aa gayi! It has been many years since that one night in jail, they never treated her badly again and she is happily married with grown up kids now.

So kabhi kabhi it becomes necessary to take such actions!

Though I feel, they have altered Meenu's character for drama. She had her issues for sure, but still she was never shown to have this extreme level of regressive outlook. Her behavior now is such a contradiction to her standing up with Mishti to support her as a woman in the previous track. I guess drama ke liye kuch bhi...

Looks like the girl's mom is well aware of the situation, so no cheating there. Rest on point!

That's amazing Pali! Sometimes a reality check is needed.

Yes, even I think Meenu's character has been changed. The only way it would be in keeping with her original character is if this was an elaborate ruse to get Mish out of Abir's life or a test to see if the two sisters can work together in crucial situations. I mean, it is still madness, but at least madness consistent with her character!

Something is definitely not adding up with Meenu's character lately.

Even if she is doing what she is doing for other reasons like you mentioned, how can a sharp lady like her not be aware that she is alienating Abir and Kunal beyond repair!?

Her behavior has been so despicable to Mishti, how will Abir ever forgive her or want to keep Mish in the same house?

And she has been so mean to Kunal in her hunger for asli waaris! How will he ever feel the same way about her?

From the beginning of the show, I have never felt that she does not love Kunal. Ok, maybe she loves Abir more, but she definitely loves Kunal and has been shown to work so hard to keep the brothers bond intact! And now suddenly they are showing her to be a mad-woman, throwing away her years of hardwork... it's hard to digest!

As far as Meenu's progressive attitude is concerned earlier she was against Mishty doing job when she herself was a successful business woman and a homemaker..

If it concerns her it is progressiveness and she would go gaga over her achievements and sacrifices..but when it comes to Mishty..her compulsive regressive disorder surfaces..

Now take surrogacy/adoption.. It's actually a progressive attitude..but when it comes to Mishty she totally go into her CRD mode..

Making things difficult for her instead of simplifying..

thats really good, sometimes people need reality check and some stern actions..

Meenu's character started off as a complicated MIL like many of SP's shows but suddenly she is behaving like colors' channel's portrayal of a mother in law...SP has always had strong mothers in law, strict but progressive...ye rishta, diya aur bati, sathiya even...hope they resurrect this character too...

@bold - That was at least explained as it being Kunal's wish, which he confirmed.

Meenu has in general been shown to be progressive about some things, and traditional about others (like bride's parents being inferior to groom's and so on). The regressive attitude we are discussing has nothing to do with surrogacy, which is a good option, but her harping on "asli waaris" and the way she condemns Mishti for not being able to bear a child.

I agree. She used to be so proud of the brothers' bond and now she's doing her best to bring in differences by making it clear Kunal is not her son and calling him someone else's son and so on.

Abir and Kunal just seem to ignore her ramblings, don't you think? Abir is still saying main maa ko sambhal loonga to Mishti and Kunal is still explaining things to her. I don't understand these weird dynamics, but looks like they take her drama as their normal?

@bold - absolutely agree on this! This was true even until the last track!!

@ bold...yes but convenient for her at that time...she didn't seem to have problem with Kuhu starting her event management..even Kunal had no problem with either Mishty (NGO job...)or Kuhu doing Job..

@ B italics

Totally agree 😊

Now in present track too..no body has problems with adoption but Meenakshii has to make it complicated for Mishty by suggesting surrogacy even before Mishty is pregnant!. that's my understanding from the precap.

If Misty is pregnant then surrogacy is the only way to save the child..

But instead of that legitimate way it's shown as a compulsion on Mishbir to have their own child ... making things difficult to Mishty and probably for Kuhu who will be railroaded to become a surrogate by Meenakshi herself,.
