.... How very boring these days have become !!
Everybody is busy inside the den. Hardly anyone ventures out. Even mom dad are seen indoors all the time !!
My dear Sutapa does not go to school any more nor does her brother Shubho .... they stay all day in the den stuck to their idiot boxes and devices .
I thought everyone was staying at home meant lots of excitement n going out, picnics and outdoors fun, but none of those things seemed to happen. I wonder why ... y..a..w...n...
I wait n wait in my den.... get so bored indoors but no one takes me out !.. I wait by the window for a glimpse of my sweet Beagle friend , but he is not seen passing by !! The streets are so deserted !! noticed the neighbourhood cat walking over the fence... I placed my bowl of milk by the window to lure that greedy girl . I waited .... sure enough she arrived to lap up the milk, I knew she would never be able to resist ... .... then I slowly asked her .....
hey girl .. you seem to roam around this neighbourhood, have you any idea why the place is so deserted ?? Why are all the families indoors all day long ?? What was happening these days ?? Why were the streets deserted ?? Where did all the vehicles n other animals and the humans go ??
She ...poor girl says she was missing her boy friend Kattty ... who is now confined indoors by his family because of some disease that’s spreading all over the city !! She knew only this much .
I felt sorry for this girl n her boy friend Kattty ..I got bored over the next few days wondering what was this new disease , whom should I ask !!
I remembered the Grandpa cat , he had no family to confine him indoors , he was always free to roam around all over the city .. he was so lucky . He was old n wise.... surely he would know
I secretly sneaked out of my house when Sutapa was busy with her device .
I wait for him at his usual haunts .. the first day went waste , I was holding in my mouth a few chunks of chicken from my lunch .
The second day I saw him passing across the road . The third day I managed to catch up . I had to offer him the chicken as bribe before he divulged a news ..... that a batch of new animals had invaded . They were called Corona . And the humans were badly attacked by the new animal and were getting killed .That’s why all the humans were scared to come out n were confided inside their dens these days . He too was missing his humans who used to feed him at the market place . He thanks for the chicken pieces , this was the first morsel of food he had eaten today .
I felt very sorry for him . I asked him to come to my neighbourhood , where I could share my food with him .
during days of paucity if food supply we should share our food I suggested .
Soon Sutapa noticed my escapades , she followed me one day n was surprised to see me sharing my food with old limping stray cat .. Sutapa offered some more food . Grandpa Cat got grandma cat too, she was starving n skinny . Sutapa shared more food with my cat friends . And soon some of my enemies ....stray dogs n cats arrived as all were starving. They all became my friends on knowing how sweet my dear Sutapa was, she never turned away a starving cat .
At last this situation gave me chance to share food and turn enemies into friends .
I was happy ldaily they arrived n we share news from the entire neighbourhood n near by localities also .
I was happy . I slept off in my kind sutapa’s lap .. I love Sutapa n shubho for their kindheartedness during times of starvation .
