Ummm Kuhu is his sister so obviously he can say her whatever he feels like,he can scold her and has more right on her comoared to Abir.Had Mishti been some other family and Kuhu had door door tk no relation with Nishant I doubt he would have so much courage to defend Mishti.It's notabout Abir or Nishant,it's about the bond they share with Kuhu.

Abir says he wasn't passing remarks and Mishti retaliates saying she didn't ask him to come for help. Abir says why would she ask him, she has a boyfriend. Mishti responds 'boyfriend nahi finance. Abir is hurt and wonders how she was his until a few months ago and she came back, called him, texted him, what for? Mishti wonders how he was her fiance and despite everything she came back and did everything she could just to know that he he still loved her.

Kuhu meets Nishant in the driveway and wants to talk to him in private. She confronts him about his decision and laments Mishti for being boring. Nannu asks her not to talk bad about his fiance. She asks him if he loved Mishti because Mishti loved someone else. Nannu says he knows the truth but for him marriage is friendship. Kuhu asks him if friendship was enough to last lifelong in a relationship where he may not get loved back ever as that will hurt. Nannu interrupts her by saying that not everyone was as lucky as her to get their fairlytale in love and Kuhu's expressions change ( loved how Kaaveri Priyum brought that subtle change in her expressions to bode this response). She says she was just concerned for him and Nannu gets worried and starts using his clicker.

I agree 💯.

I feel bad for him because Mishti knows that Nannu doesn't love her like that but agreed to everything only because of their friendship and his concern for her but Mishti has been in love while Nannu is still trying to get in terms with his newfound feelings for Mishti. She has been in love and heartbroken and knows nothing will ever be the same. Being Nannu's friend, it's her responsibility to protect him from the heartbreak. Right now it's more like taking advantage of him to make BP happy.

I feel it's Mishti hallucinating because of the Kuhu and Abir's confrontation happens first, he should rush to Kunal for answers and hopefully give him back an earful because I for one am tired of Kunal being treated as a five year old all the time.
