Lovely posts, everyone!
You know what I kind of loved? The fact that Abir's idea did *not* work for Kunal, and that in the end, Kunal just used it to give Kuhu some much needed relief (his face when she relaxed from his massage!), and to lure her outside. It kind of felt like once he had Kuhu alone, he knew *exactly* what to do. ☺️ I am into this take-charge Kunal and that is how I read his steady expressions. He was done playing around and ready to come straight to the point. They've always been the blunt, straightforward couple and they've always communicated through touch, so the way that whole moment unfurled, with Jugnu discreetly adding just a touch of extra glamour felt absolutely perfect. It's really beautiful how well these two have gotten to know each other, and how much they've become a unit through all the ups and downs of their family drama.
That detail of how he pulled her into the hug by wrapping her arms around him was
Rather than an "all is forgiven" moment for Kuhu, I saw it as more as an, "okay, the divorce is definitely not happening" moment. She needed something that grand and obvious to hear that from him because he had done such a good job of convincing her that he didn't want her or the marriage. Kuhu has always preferred to deal with her problems and her marriage in private (her no drama policy). She was putting off telling her family because she was holding out hope that Kunal would come around and decide to give this marriage a chance, so she could spare both of their families the heartache and because for her, marriage is serious business. I have no doubt that if the divorce papers weren't leaked by Mishti and Jasmeet, Kuhu would have taken Kunal to task in private (as she has done since day one of the marriage) and they would have had a more gradual journey towards love and trust within the four walls of their bedroom.
That would have been Kuhu's ideal outcome, and I think Kunal's as well, since both of them share a mutual aversion to drama, but alas! When do these two ever get their ideal outcome?
About the cross-dressing, it was damn stupid and quite pointless but I don't think it was offensive perse. Abir and Kunal were dressed up as women, which is really not much different from Mishti stealing and wearing Jugnu's clothes. My question is why they needed to wear all that make-up when they were odhofying the ghungat the whole time. Anyway, I'm just going to try and forget that whole thing happened -- it wasn't crossing any PC lines technically but it was still cringy AF. Kunal's reactions to the whole thing were on point!
