When you find someone who breaks you open, makes you feel things; you fight for them.

-Tarryn Fisher

There are very few in the world who are lucky enough to experience love and even fewer who manage to hold on to it. A girl who was abandoned by the two people that were supposed to love her unconditionally, stand by her and protect her at all costs probably understands this better than most.

Mishti has always been careful and wary of love all her life. She has never been one of those girls who dream about a prince charming or finding a happily ever after. Every girl probably dreams about their husband to be or their dream wedding but Mishti's first reaction to marriage wasn't hesitancy or nervousness, it was plain horror. She was terrified at the aspect of having to abandon the one place that she had managed to somehow hold on to, the two people that had been her only constants, for something she didn't truly understand anymore. Seeing marriages break apart and families betrayed, she didn't know if she could learn to trust someone as intimately anymore or let herself count on them the way she should. She forgot what it felt to not be scared of being wrong, of being blamed, of being abandoned. A girl who once never thought twice about speaking her mind became someone that carefully considered everything she said and did a million times. A girl who unabashedly put her opinion across without fear of being judged had turned into someone that constantly second-guessed every decision she made and blamed herself for every unfortunate accident or mistake that ever occurred around her.

And then she met Abir Rajvansh. A stranger who had cared enough to help her through her confusion, giving her the answers she was looking for. Who then grew to become a dear friend and the only person she found herself constantly counting on to understand her and to stand by her without consciously realizing that she was doing so. Even before she understood what it was that drew her to him. What it was that made her constantly choose him over others. What made her uncaring of the fire that was threatening to engulf a building with her in it, only to save a mere painting that she believed was precious to him, Mishti found herself wanting to protect him and everything that was dear to him.

His friendship helped her remember what it was like to open up to someone, to trust someone and to count on them to have their back. It helped her remember what it was like to have a choice, to choose someone to care about, to choose to be a part of someone's life and not being thrust into it. And when she realized how special he was and how deep her feelings for him ran, she found herself embracing them with all her heart and soul. Completely unafraid and not even in the slightest bit hesitant over pursuing it. Abir's constant presence and his unwavering trust in her, helping her re-learn and welcome back the girl that was lost for so long, there was almost no hope of return. His concern and care for her managing to bring back the girl that once loved to challenge and pull one over another just for the sake of it. He made her remember how it was to live and love again. For the very first time, she was someone else's number one priority by choice. His love re-instilled in her the self-confidence that had been chipped away by the constant abuse and taunts she faced every single day. For the first time, she was unafraid to speak her mind, of being judged, of not being enough. She experienced the feeling of 'true belonging'.

She vowed to never let anything get in the way of their relationship, she vowed to always stay by his side, to protect him, to guide him and most importantly love him as he deserves to be loved, wholly and unconditionally! He became her strength, her support, and her rock. He became her new constant. The one person she counted on to never abandon her. His love for her so sure and strong, it never let her feel scared of ever losing him. Not even for a second. That confidence in their relationship letting her take that leeway to get mad at him, to take it out on him and to push him away, fully sure he would never leave so far where she couldn't reach him.

But when she heard him say the words she was so sure would never come her way, all her horrors came back full force. She was on the verge of breaking down but No! She refused to accept it. The promise she made him, still fresh on her mind, she knew she was never letting him go even if he asked her to. She understood the fact that as much as she needed him, he needed her too. They were both equals in the relationship. She had to convince him of her strength, of her courage. To remind him that she wasn't new to hardships or challenges in life. She needed to show him that she could handle a fight even if she had to fight against him for it. He had no right to take him away from her. She wouldn't let him take him away from her because, in all terms, he was 'hers' now. So she had as much say in his existence as he did on her own. So she tells him she would never let him give up on them, that she would always fight for him and never let him get away from her with a finality that leaves no chance for any protest. The desperate rant and the agony in her words leaving the boy so in love with her completely stunned, his eyes reflecting the horror when he realized the error in the words he had chosen and the misunderstanding that had thus ensued.

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

Her eyes tear up against her will as she cradles his face in her arms again, wanting him to hear her out as she spoke with conviction.

"Ab toh tum khud sirf apne nahi ho Abir, tum Mere bhi ho. Isliye mein tumhe kahi nahi jaane doongi, kahi nahi jaane doongi mein tumhe!"

And thus Mishti keeps her promise. To stand her ground, to stay by his side and fight for him, fight for their relationship, their love even "if" he ever gave up the fight. Not because she doesn't realize how hard it was going to be but because giving up on them was always going to be harder. Losing him was and never will be an option. Because losing him would mean losing herself. Because living without him would be not living at all.

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

A/N : Yesterday's episode and the conversation between Mishbir was so beautifully written and executed that words would really fall short in appreciating the brilliance of it all. Although, both Mishbir kept their promise to each other, I felt Mishti this time needed special mentioning and a really long post dedicated to her courage, her strength and her love for one Ajeeb Rajvansh. I also realized I don't make enough posts appreciating Mishti as much as I do appreciating Abir and I really think she deserves to be talked about more.

Amazing amazing post Geethu!!!! Thank you for posting it despite being so busy and tired!! <3 <3

I didn't follow much of the show in which choti Mishti was a part of. So I dont know more. But after reading here and there, and watching the bits and pieces of some of her scenes here and there, I conclude she was one naughty, confident, strong and speak your mind type of a child too. But whatever her family did to her by abandoning her, she lost that touch. I wouldn't say that she lost that. I would say it got hidden somehow because her grief took over her. She was a child. She didn't know any better. She didn't know how to handle it. Hence she started losing her friends. She lost confidence in making new friends. No one other than BM and BP really made an effort to understand that struggle of her. And she didn't know any better on how to explain that grief to others. So she accepted her fate of being the loner. Of not having anyone really to understand her. She just knew how to keep quite and not react with the the fear that if she says something, she will be abandoned again from the house that she was in. No one understood that fear of her other than BM and BP. And they both did their level best in making sure that she grows in one of the best and independent individuals. While BM and BP has done their amazing and strong ground work, it was Abir Rajvansh who finally came in the light and made sure that ground work got perfect shape and color which changed to Mishti to who she is right now. To who she was as a child! Abir was that light she was trying to search really hard within her own darkness. Abir was that strength that she was trying to gather from her own broken pieces. He came, he spoke, he understood, he fought for her and she is the same, small, smiling baby again!! In Abir words, the stubborn little kid that he wanted Mishti to be!!

I so loved that Mishti didn't want to give up on Abir, not even for a second. Normally we do see in other shows that FL's are the first one to give up. Not that Abir meant that, but as you said the choice of his words, again ignited the fire to her fears of being abandoned. But instead of breaking down and giving up under that fear, she rose above and how. She demanded that she had the equal right and equal say on this and that he doesn't have the right to give up on them. She told him that he is her as much as she is his!!! And no matter what, no matter how many fights they have in future, she isn't going to give up on him! He is her home, where she isn't scared to be abandoned. She is his home, where he isn't scared to be vulnerable about his own feelings!

He had her back when she needed it. Now its her turn. She has his. He was her knight in shining armor. Now she is his!! He showed her the light in between darkness. Now its her turn to do that!

MishBir are equals!! MisBhir are best friends!! And the best companions.

Edit: Like Abir was the only one who could see and understand her fear, Mishti was also only the one to know about his fears, his vulnerability, his act of being happy for others!

I have missed reading your posts... Thank you so much for this🤗

I can't explain how much your word have done justice to what Mishti has endured as a person till now.. It was so beautifully written... In simple yet very perfect words you have described another one of the most beautiful scenes of Mishbir we have come across in recent times...

Everything was perfect... The dialogues, the acting, the execution and of course Rhea was on point... Right now... I can't separate Shaheer and Rhea from Abir and Mishti.. Because they are Mishbir for me.. ❤️

Thank you for giving Mishti this appreciation..

Thanks for The amazing post.

Mishti did an amazing job yday & today also.

She loves him so damn passionately, it literally overwhelms me,forget Abir.

This reminds me of the time when she was on the roads like a crazy searching for abir n his baba. This girl has no bound when its about her ajeeb admi.

(I actually felt sad that the actors were sick during abir's bday track otherwise we would have got few more serious emotional scenes back then when mish brought baba home.)

First of all Amazing post Geetha🤗 I agree with each and every word. I always get emotional thinking about Mishti's story for me she will always be that 13 year old girl whose life brutally chnaged over night. Remember the powerful visual of young Mish sitting on the swing being pushed by her baba and than as time passes she is sitting on the swinging alone and rocking her own self. At a very tender age Mish was exposed to the cruelty and selfishness of people. Not only did her parents abandon her but even her own relatives forced her to get out of her comfort zone. Young Mish used to be the jaan and a fire cracker in Singhania household but we all she how quiet she became when she started living with the Mahs. We see her waiting for her dad day in and day out hoping against hope that he will come for her but he doesn't and something breaks inside the little girl she feels maybe she was not enough to make him stay. Through BP & BM support she starts dreaming again, starts trusting again and looking at their love and even Kaira's love she wishes that one day even she could have an epic love story. Lo & behold fast forward many years later she has one of the best friends to lovers story ever. Abir was like a breath of fresh air in her life in her own words "Mera legendary bad day chal raha tha par tum ahayay aur tumnay apnay silly say jokes say mujay smile kara diya" not only did he make her laugh by teaching her to let lose a little and to not overthink much and to live in the moment but he also motivated her to believe in herself "Tum jo kar rahi ho woh bilkul sahi hain" how many times all of us need the reassurance that we are doing the right thing and whenever Mish has been confused Abir has always been there to guide her. No wonder the gilr recirds everything he says and legit hangs on to her every word. Abir made her believe in the power of magic, fairy tales and miracles for the girl who used to think that Life is not a fairy tale and the prince charming concept is unrealistic now has someone who treats her like a princess who loves the whole of her the real her and not some glammed up version "Aik shezaadi jis ka chasam hi uss ki nishani hain". Most of all Abir taught her how to love again, he opened up all the walls that she had built around her heart and as he promised his love has made her a little ziddi. So yeah she won't let go of him that easily. Honestly, I just loved her whole monologue in that scene when she told him that she is stronger then him and she doesn't need his sympathy and she can very much handle things so he doesn't have to worry and she will fight the whole world and even him for their love I fell in love with the character Mishti Aggrwal all over again. Most FLs sacrifice under the guise of dunya, farz, family and qismat but here our FL is fiercely unapologetic who is hell bent on making sure that her love does not lose. "Main apnay pyar ko harnay nahi du gi" All in all Mishti is the true embodiment of nayi soch and the kind of strong woman that we all should aspire to be.

Once again loved your post Geetha and sorry for the late reply👍🏼

Hey Shona! 🤗

Thank you so much for leaving me this detailed and amazing comment to the post.

I think I am in the minority of the people who are watching this show after being a follower of the parent show for some time. The character of "Mishti" has been incredibly close to my heart. She was my baby on the parent show. I was proud of that little firecracker. She genuinely gave me so much joy when I watched her onscreen. I honestly am not a fan of kids on any show. I don't like how most of these kids on Indian TV are made to act 'funny' or 'dramatic' just for some gags or to draw in sympathy. Very few get the fact that kids are meant to be 'kids' on a show. While Mishti did look like a kid, she wasn't. She was a teenager - someone who could understand right from wrong and someone who understood crushes and relationships. She had a growth problem so when she spoke about stuff like Marriage or relationships, it didn't sound weird coming from her but very adorable. YRKKH hit a jackpot with her character then. All of us loved her. It's her that made me give a chance to this show as well. So far, I haven't been disappointed so I'm grateful.

I think you got the gist of everything I wanted to say with my post and I agree with you on what you've said. Mishbir indeed are the only ones who truly understand each other like no one else does which is why they are so very special to each other and us as well. They will always be each other's biggest support systems and will always be the first ones to save one another whenever the other one is at risk. It's what I love about their relationship as well. Both are each others saviors and heros. I sincerely hope their relationship continues to be of equals as it has been so far. It's what makes their pair that very significant, unique and real - a complete contrast from the toxic Indian Television couples we see on our screens all the time.

Thank you again for giving me the push for writing this one. I really wanted to but I might have not done it if you hadn't asked. Also, apologies since this reply was long due and it's coming so late. 😔
