When you find someone who breaks you open, makes you feel things; you fight for them.
-Tarryn Fisher
There are very few in the world who are lucky enough to experience love and even fewer who manage to hold on to it. A girl who was abandoned by the two people that were supposed to love her unconditionally, stand by her and protect her at all costs probably understands this better than most.
Mishti has always been careful and wary of love all her life. She has never been one of those girls who dream about a prince charming or finding a happily ever after. Every girl probably dreams about their husband to be or their dream wedding but Mishti's first reaction to marriage wasn't hesitancy or nervousness, it was plain horror. She was terrified at the aspect of having to abandon the one place that she had managed to somehow hold on to, the two people that had been her only constants, for something she didn't truly understand anymore. Seeing marriages break apart and families betrayed, she didn't know if she could learn to trust someone as intimately anymore or let herself count on them the way she should. She forgot what it felt to not be scared of being wrong, of being blamed, of being abandoned. A girl who once never thought twice about speaking her mind became someone that carefully considered everything she said and did a million times. A girl who unabashedly put her opinion across without fear of being judged had turned into someone that constantly second-guessed every decision she made and blamed herself for every unfortunate accident or mistake that ever occurred around her.
And then she met Abir Rajvansh. A stranger who had cared enough to help her through her confusion, giving her the answers she was looking for. Who then grew to become a dear friend and the only person she found herself constantly counting on to understand her and to stand by her without consciously realizing that she was doing so. Even before she understood what it was that drew her to him. What it was that made her constantly choose him over others. What made her uncaring of the fire that was threatening to engulf a building with her in it, only to save a mere painting that she believed was precious to him, Mishti found herself wanting to protect him and everything that was dear to him.
His friendship helped her remember what it was like to open up to someone, to trust someone and to count on them to have their back. It helped her remember what it was like to have a choice, to choose someone to care about, to choose to be a part of someone's life and not being thrust into it. And when she realized how special he was and how deep her feelings for him ran, she found herself embracing them with all her heart and soul. Completely unafraid and not even in the slightest bit hesitant over pursuing it. Abir's constant presence and his unwavering trust in her, helping her re-learn and welcome back the girl that was lost for so long, there was almost no hope of return. His concern and care for her managing to bring back the girl that once loved to challenge and pull one over another just for the sake of it. He made her remember how it was to live and love again. For the very first time, she was someone else's number one priority by choice. His love re-instilled in her the self-confidence that had been chipped away by the constant abuse and taunts she faced every single day. For the first time, she was unafraid to speak her mind, of being judged, of not being enough. She experienced the feeling of 'true belonging'.
She vowed to never let anything get in the way of their relationship, she vowed to always stay by his side, to protect him, to guide him and most importantly love him as he deserves to be loved, wholly and unconditionally! He became her strength, her support, and her rock. He became her new constant. The one person she counted on to never abandon her. His love for her so sure and strong, it never let her feel scared of ever losing him. Not even for a second. That confidence in their relationship letting her take that leeway to get mad at him, to take it out on him and to push him away, fully sure he would never leave so far where she couldn't reach him.
But when she heard him say the words she was so sure would never come her way, all her horrors came back full force. She was on the verge of breaking down but No! She refused to accept it. The promise she made him, still fresh on her mind, she knew she was never letting him go even if he asked her to. She understood the fact that as much as she needed him, he needed her too. They were both equals in the relationship. She had to convince him of her strength, of her courage. To remind him that she wasn't new to hardships or challenges in life. She needed to show him that she could handle a fight even if she had to fight against him for it. He had no right to take him away from her. She wouldn't let him take him away from her because, in all terms, he was 'hers' now. So she had as much say in his existence as he did on her own. So she tells him she would never let him give up on them, that she would always fight for him and never let him get away from her with a finality that leaves no chance for any protest. The desperate rant and the agony in her words leaving the boy so in love with her completely stunned, his eyes reflecting the horror when he realized the error in the words he had chosen and the misunderstanding that had thus ensued.

Her eyes tear up against her will as she cradles his face in her arms again, wanting him to hear her out as she spoke with conviction.
"Ab toh tum khud sirf apne nahi ho Abir, tum Mere bhi ho. Isliye mein tumhe kahi nahi jaane doongi, kahi nahi jaane doongi mein tumhe!"
And thus Mishti keeps her promise. To stand her ground, to stay by his side and fight for him, fight for their relationship, their love even "if" he ever gave up the fight. Not because she doesn't realize how hard it was going to be but because giving up on them was always going to be harder. Losing him was and never will be an option. Because losing him would mean losing herself. Because living without him would be not living at all.

A/N : Yesterday's episode and the conversation between Mishbir was so beautifully written and executed that words would really fall short in appreciating the brilliance of it all. Although, both Mishbir kept their promise to each other, I felt Mishti this time needed special mentioning and a really long post dedicated to her courage, her strength and her love for one Ajeeb Rajvansh. I also realized I don't make enough posts appreciating Mishti as much as I do appreciating Abir and I really think she deserves to be talked about more.
