Big Ben is portrayed as an independent biz woman but instead of making her smart and modern..they have made her a manipulative nutso

Varsha is all over the place

Baadi ma is always panicking and fainting

Kuhu ..don't even get me started

Mishti was strong and bold initially but now she is turning into a typical itv sacrificing heroine. I hated when they made her say all that stuff about Kuhu on her mehendi

I am surprised with the change in attitude of the Maheshwari clan. You are right Bade Papa's mother was a gem of a person so mature and wise. She set the tone and modeled the behavior for the rest of the family. Bade Papa and Rajshri have always been respectful and exemplified behavior they expected in others. Why with this show did this change? Varsha used to be a sensible character and what has she become. Don't even talk to me about Jasmeet who serves no purpose. Every time she say mu boli I just want to slap her. Why is this disrespect tolerated?

How I wish Bade papa was more vocal and set the tone for the rest of the family and fought for what's right. How did he allow Kuhu to marry into that family that insulted them so much. Whatever Kuhu is as a woman she doesn't need to tolerate Kunal's nonsense and should have set the boundaries from day 1. Mishti I want to see her being a super strong girl taking interest in Bade Papa's business and getting more involved in it. I know she said she wanted to do something on her own but it should be separate from working for Abeer. I want her to have her own identity and independence before getting married. I want Abeer to show Kunal the mirror so he see's how pathetic he has become. Someone needs to get him off his pedestal and verify his Harvard degree which he probably got from Hogwarts instead.

I want to see some rules in the Maheshwari house as far as how everyone is to be respectful to each other. Kuhu was never corrected for her behavior. I so wish this attitude of Kunal was handled in a very smart way so he doesn't have the nerve to even think of even saying anything negative about Mishti without major consequences. He can't keep standing on everyone's head throwing temper tantrums. This is the monster that Meenu has created. Does Kunal have good relations with anyone? I want Parul to become more vocal and say what have you done to Kunal? Someone needs to stand up to this Meenu who has her whole family scared of her. Only person with little sense is Abeer. No Mishti doesn't have to tolerate anymore insults from Kunal and Meenu. This has to stop at once.

You have actually hit the nail on the head......The problem stems from how the maheshwari clan has handled the women in their household . We at times in the garb of adhering to societal norms tend to overlook issues happening within our own close circuit .I am also equally surprised how the entire Maheshwari khandaan has become so regressive with the next generation. There was a time when bps daughter took control over her family business as her husband had slipped in coma and how she successfully handled not only the family but also her business. Coming from those adversities I'm sure they would have realised that its extremely important to educate ones daughters to enable them to become independent and support themselves, god forbid some calamity strikes. But here the next generation daughter of the household has been only trained in some ikebana. I mean guys how on earth can a hobby be equated with a professional degree. there has never been a discussion in the household on how these girls should be groomed to take on what life throws on them in future. How bp and bm in all their wisdom never enlightened them on life beyond marriage and prince charming. Parents cannot absolve of the responsibility by just arranging a good match, buying costly ornaments and clothes and throwing a lavish party at any given point of time. Are we by any chance addressing the millennials? i don't think so . I guess thus kuhus insecurity stems from the fact that this girl will be forever languishing in her parental house if she is shunted out by Kunal and hence to maintain her existence she can go to any extent. It actually makes me feel bad to see a girl who could have achieved so much in life will be living a life of guilt because sooner or later her antics will be known to the world and then if there is an iota of self respect left in her, how on earth will she face her family. So here she is not deciding for herself but allowing others to train her mind .This trait also originates from the fact that she is aware she is incapable of achieving anything worthwhile in life and hence survival of the fittest as per her.

Its actually good to follow rituals but there is a difference in being religious and spiritual.Alas none of our shows want to show internal growth of people and how one can evolve to become a better person and how this crab mentality of pulling each other down to rise up will never help. They only want to show ceremonies surrounding various religious events so that there is a chance to show opulence, dance and drama. .People have come a long way in changing their mindsets and makers must focus on character development as these are national platforms and there is more to life than just earning money by showcasing this regressive outlook.

I frankly don't understand this uproar over Abir apologizing to Kunal or trying to make it up to him. It has nothing to do with him disrespecting Mishti and everything to do with how much he loves Kunal. Lets take a few facts here into consideration.

a. Abir treats Kunal like his child. Its evident from the FBs that the guy literally dotes on his baby brother and would give up on anything for his happiness. Kunal is clearly his blind spot and this is almost like a parent trying to make it up to a bratty child despite knowing he is at fault.

b. Abir feels guilty about leaving his house on and off and letting Kunal be in complete control of his mom. He knows how much of a control freak his mom is and how much she can manipulate a person

c. Abir knows nothing about the stuff Kunal has done in the past few months. We know Kunal has plotted, we know he used Kuhu to separate MishBir, we know he has always misbehaved with Mishti but Abir is unaware about almost everything. He still thinks Kunal is an immature egoistic brat who is just throwing a childish tantrum

d. After all the ruckus, Kunal cried and told Abir that he can give up his life for his bhai

e. Abir has no ego. He is the kind of guy who will apologize and try to make it up to his loved ones whether it is Kunal or Mishti. even if they are at fault.

f. Abir has called out Kunal multiple times. He called out Kunal for his male ego after the gordhana fiasco, he called out Kunal and forced him to marry when he tried to run away and he even asked Kunal to say sorry after he misbehaved with Mishti.

Why is all this forgotten just because he is trying to make it up to his brother now? Yes Abir is wrong in his judgment of Kunal. Yes brats like Kunal become worse when they are mollycoddled but thats just how Abir has been. It does not mean he is approving Kunal's insult of Mishti. It just means he is an emotional fool when it comes to his baby brother. I honestly think we are being too harsh on Abir. Its not easy for someone like him to remain angry and not be the mature one esp when he knows his baby brother is hurting and he knows nothing about the stunts his brother has pulled in the past. I mean we have Mishti who goes back to being nice to Kuhu though she has been nothing short of vile to her. And this is about Kunal who Abir has probably been closest to before Mishti came into his life. While I completely agree that a lot of female characters are being absolutely toxic on this show and Abir needs a big reality check when it comes to Kunal, I just don't see what is so shocking about Abir trying to make up to his baby brother who he clearly dotes on and treats like his own child.

Wow, you have said everything that I feel and wanted to say Deepika! Excellent points smiley20

Abir has always seen himself as Kunal's brother as well as father, older siblings naturally has those instincts. That combined with Abir having no knowledge of Kunal's involvement in all the planning plotting that happened during KuKu wedding, I do not see anything wrong with him trying to make it up to Kunal. As a parent, most times you end up pacifying your child first and then make them see reason and explain where they went wrong. It by no means imply that Abir endorses Kunal's behavior, he already told him to apologize to Mishti and also let him be after refusing to choose. But he can see his baby is hurting, so it's obvious for him to try and pacify him first. He may again explain to Kunal what he did was wrong...

Also, one more thing I would like to add about Abir's comment to Mishti that she might have to face such insults in the future too: I do not believe he was implying that he will be okay with people insulting her in his house in the future. But he knows that it is not possible to change people overnight and considering the amount of hate his mom and brother harbor for Mishti, it will take some time before he can fix their behavior towards her. So he was just being practical and apologizing to her in advance for any and all insults she might face before he can fix the mindset of his loved ones...

I think Abir meant that things are going to turn for the worse before they get better and that their relationship has to have the stamina to survive these tough situations. He wants Mishti to know he won't let go of her no matter how bad things become and to trust him that he won't hurt her. The families are not going to accept them as a couple easily but no matter how many obstacles they face their commitment to each other needs to stay strong and if they can survive this then they have a solid foundation for a longlasting marriage. They have to have the courage to face all the challenges to get what they want at the end and that is to be together.
