Abir's Baba

One thing is clear from today's episode. Abir's baba was not an evil person. I have read a lot of theories on this forum stating that Abir and Kunal must be sharing the same father and he must have been a rapist. But from today's episode, it's kind of clear that Abir gets his philanthropic nature from his dad. I assume, his 'banjaraness' is blood related. In previous episodes, when Abir was shown to be talking about his dad with Meenakshi, you could see that he has trust in his father. He does not believe Meenakshi in the fact that his father left them because he doesn't love them. And I guess, that's why I don't think the makers will show Abir's trust broken in this truth being unfolded. On the contrary, I believe that Meenakshi must have had a brother who was a criminal and whose deed may have affected Abir's dad's household. Parul must have been Meenakshi's brother's wife. She must have gotten pregnant before his death. Due his misdeeds, Nanu's business must have been affected which Meenu had to take up later on. In order to not let Kunal get affected and be labeled as 'a criminal's child', Meenakshi adopted him as her own son. Abir's father must have not had a problem with this action of Meenakshi's, however, his family must have not accepted Meenakshi after this move. Hence, he had to leave them. This will be contrasted by showing that Abir would not be like his father. He will not leave Mishti due to his family and instead, he would not lead a banjara life. The subtle changes in his lifestyle are already visible like him getting a phone- changes which Meenakshi couldn't bring to her husband.

Abir did say to Meenu in initial episodes k she uses Baba k jaane Vali baat very smartly...I don't know why is Baba left but I feel his Baba is not as bad as Meenu portrays

@bold - exactly my thoughts too!!! I was thinking just the same. But won't Parul be Mami then - and nobody other than Meenu know? Maybe meenus brother and Parul secretly got married and he was an ass (Kunal getting that from his dad! :D) and told Parul he would publicly acknowledge their relationship later or something.. and then he passed away? So to save Parul and the child from embarassment and unnecessary questions, Meenu protected her and took the child as her own? I don't know what the makers are planning - but the hints are getting obvious now so I guess the truth will unfold soon

Nanu started to talk about Abir's baba but stopped in today's episode. What do you think it was? He said Meenu Ko nahi pata chala chahiye ki tum uss jagah pe ho Jahan tumhare baba...."

Was he just talking about where his baba wanted to build the school or something much more?

I think your thoughts make a lot of sense. Because something wasn’t adding up... like Kunal and not real son of Meenu But of Parul. And abir’s constant wait/search and admiration for his father. I did think initially that abir and Kunal are half brothers but abir’s bubble would burst of his father being a good man and mother selfish. But now after this school revelation, I don’t think that could be the case. So whatever you mentioned is making sense now.

Even I was confused. What was he exactly going to say? The same place where his baba left Meenu? Nanu didn't complete his line. Anyway, the way Nanu was telling that to Abir, it made me feel as if Abir knows the truth. If not the complete truth, Abir knows it partially.

That is very much of a possibility. But then, Abir blaming his Maa makes total sense and that means that Abir knows the truth of Meenakshi never going back. However, I have a feeling that Meenakshi will be proven to be innocent in this case. I have a strong feeling that when Abir comes to know the entire truth, he will start to understand Meenakshi's actions and mend his ties with her.

Anybody else thinking too much going on simultaneously?

I feel it could be a plot point like kal ho na ho where Jaya Bachchan’s husband had a love child but didn’t have guts and committed suicide. She took the child into her own care and brought her up. Could be the case with abir’s dad too. He had a love child with Parul but was overcome with guilt and went away. So Meenu brought up kunal as her own to save the family from bad name. That doesn’t make abir’s dad a rapist or anything, just a coward
