Bade Papa and how he is a good example of a proper parent

Much as I find Badi Maa a little too much for my poor ears, I think she is supposed to a hysterical somewhat so I get the characterization. What really impresses me is that balance they have brought in with a character like Bade Papa. He is not too good, unrealistically so, he is just sensible and he has a good heart. He did make a mistake in judging ABir and he was gracious enough to not just admit that but admit it in public.

If there are characters like Kaushal, who is shown as a scaredy cat afraid to go up against Meenu Behnamd also as someone who is incompetent for most part, and Nanu who knows what's right yet relies mostly on Abir to speak up and does not ALWAYS do that himself, there are characters like Bade Papa who politely, calmly stand up for the daughter at eveyr juncture.

Thing I love bst about this show is that apart from central characters (that is, ML/ FL) there are others like BP who are such a positive addition and who are USED to convey positive messages too.

Bade papa and nanu are positive characters and Kaushal and Nidhi are interesting ones.

Bade Papa and nanu are goals...aur abir bilkul Apne nanu pe Gaya hai ...only difference Abir meanu se itna darta nahi hai

I loved how nanu supported Abir's love when he found out about it and saw that kunal is not right match for mishti

Bade Papa also cared about mishti's happiness more than society norms

Every girl needs a father like Bade Papa. He is not only supprtive but also encourage and motivate you to do better in life and take a stand for right things. He puts his opinion forward strongly in a very polite manner. Nanu is nanu afterall. I really enjoy watching him just wish sometimes he would take a stand but that is what Abir is there for.

Bade papa is the perfect father figure. He is supportive of mishti of course like you said and loved his apology to Abir but I also loved how he came to check on Kuhu after the fiasco. He is truly a gem.
