Can we talk about Badi Maa?

Hi all,

I am a silent reader on IF for many years now. I started following this show in the past month and caught up with past episodes on hotstar.

Enough of my history...I was compelled to make this post due to Badi Maa. What is she made of really? She doesn’t trust anyone in her own family (including her most sensible, progressive and level headed husband) with the secret of Naman’s blackmail. Then she forces Mishti for the engagement despite the girl being not totally comfortable. And willy nilly, ek nek kaam hua due to Naman’s appearance triggering it and mishti finally calling off the alliance and this lady plays a meenakumari and sulks instead of standing by her daughter like a good parent. And now she has the gall to tell mishti not to go? Thank God mishti and the family have bade papa! I really want mishti to call out Badi Maa the way Abir calls out Meenu

I still think that if kunal agrees to marry mishti (which I hope will not happen), she will give her consent immediately 😆

Oh, 100% she would. Mishti doesn’t need any enemies when she has Badi Maa around. I forgot to mention how she was trying to force mishti to not ask for courtship and then, the job interview time, she gave gyan to mishti that she should keep Kunal informed. Double standards-you did charity to criminal Naman for years without telling your husband and you talk about communication with mishti’s at that point, “not even would be “ spouse? My God! Atleast Big Ben is vocal. This Badi Maa feels like the saying”aasteen ka saanp “. She triggers hatred in me the way no other tv character did recently. I really want someone to give her an earful about her deeds

Rajshri behen, here badi maa has always shown as a fearful woman and stupidly so.

They've also altered Varsha into this selfish and cunning woman when she was one of the only characters who made sense from the parent show!

Actually Varsha still has some redeeming qualities. I can’t find any in Badi Maa. I haven’t watched the parent show. So don’t know how they were there but here she is just too much. I really like the actress(she was the sweetest bhabhi possible in the movie vivaah) but the character is crazy! Worse part is I have seen women like her in real life. So I get where the writers are coming from. I feel really bad for mishti whenever she does things against her own will just to please her Badi Maa

I dont wanna talk about her. If i think about her,only one thing will come to my mind.That's her screaming... MISHTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.....

Jokes apart,i totally agree with all ur views.But what to do?I guess most of the mothers are like that. They tell their daughters to compromise,sacrifice to have a happy life.

Oh yaah.... she is the one who played the loving Bhabhi role in Vivah .GOSH...how come i couldn't recognize her,though that movie comes on tv every weekend.😆

She was such a sweet and understanding character in vivah

Here her character is totally opposite

Yup, she is the same actress. Aur yahaan pe toh melodrama queen. Meenakumari bhi haar jaayen inke drama ke saamne🙄

Badi maa is someone who loves her traditions and fear changes...she has gone from beta to Voh ladka for Abir...let's see how she reacts when see comes to know that her pyaari beti has fallen for that Voh ladka

Finally! Badi maa redeemed herself today by letting mishti go for her work. Good, good, Badi Maa, keep it up.
