Hi, I'm new here.
I have been a silent reader since many days and I really enjoy reading your opinions on this forum. I have been absolutely loving this serial. One of the reasons is definitely Shaheer Sheikh and his jaw-dropping depiction of every emotion that comes his way. Another has to be the character sketch of Abir- one of those that ITV has never seen.
Anyway, Friday's episode contained quite a lot- from a fiery love realisation to screaming of Badi Maa. Apart from the scenes that made our heartbeats race faster, there were many scenes that totally made us question the characters. Well, the action of every other character is to certain extent understandable, Mishti's actions were not. Her line at the end of the fire chaos made us question her consistency as a character. While her actions tell a different tale, her words show the kind of one track mind she has. It goes on to show how she has been forced to accept the whole idea of marriage even though she can't fathom the concept due to her past experiences with it (her parents, I mean). Even though Abir is already in her heart unknowingly, she only perceives him as her friend and nothing else. Even though she put her life in danger just for a painting that meant so much for her so called friend Abir, all she was lastly concerned about was how the guy with whom her courtship is happening, came to save her risking his own life, even though the whole fire scenario was about her and Abir risking their own lives for each other. I feel, her least concern about Abir once she was out, was due to the fact that she thinks of him as a friend. In her mind, just like how she risked her life to save his painting, he risked his life to save her. According to her, the whole risking element gets equalled out in the name of friendship (since friends DO things for each other). But Kunal, over here is the guy that didn't have any relationship with her (not even of friendship) and yet, he risked his life for her (even though he reached late at the site). She does not expect anything from him and getting even a bit of slightest inclination/guarantee/care from his side makes her see him in a good light. It makes her trust him even more and gives her the idea that he is not like her father. Abir, on the other hand, has become so close to her without her knowing that she takes his actions towards her for granted, terming their care for each other as friendship.
I think this is what the makers are trying to show that how her childhood incident with her father has left her mind thinking only in one direction. Let me know your opinions on this.
