please read up before spitting facts …irrespective of the legality, people are being paid to be surrogates ..you don’t need to have a family member …they should simply not have a commercial motive …but people do it, payments are made and fertility clinics themselves organize this …I am personally aware of this ..so

It is illegal in India, it happens doesn't mean it is not illegal, if you are personally aware of this then you were a party to a criminal activity

Try reading Surrogacy regulation act, 2021

A woman widowed/divorced can do it but she can't take money, she has to do it willingly, commercial surrogacy is not legal
