Armaan was attracted to a pretty woman who was a perfect fit for his family ..even before he saw her face, what intrigued him was her thoughts about family which matched his ..so it was more picking a mate that you deemed perfect rather than falling deeply and irrevocably in love ..even with Ruhi, she was so sure of her love for Armaan that she jumped at the first proposal that came her way when she thought he’d ghosted her ..and then of course the stupid sacrifice ..and Armaan wanted to make her feel better about what he was asking her to do and so he told her that he would always have her in his heart ..we saw Ruhi attempt to cross boundaries with Armaan even with Rohit around ..and despite Armaan telling her she would remain his brother’s wife always ..when Armaan brought Abhira home, a furious Ruhi pressed the exact buttons to make him blurt out the truth that they had an arrangement rather than a marriage ..and she has used that information ever since to emotionally manipulate him and get her way to whatever extent possible ..Armaan’s mistakes were two ..when he could not stand up for his love, he should have simply backed off and left the choice of marrying Rohit to Ruhi …he should not have put pressure on her ..secondly he should not have told her he would always hold her close to his heart ..it was a highly inappropriate thing to say given she was going to be his sister-in-law…that apart, given that Abhira and he had an arrangement and she did not want anything more than one year from him, he was not obligated to share the truth about Ruhi with her …it was an intimate family secret and Abhira had consistently told him she was leaving in a year…. Coming back to the issue of love, it was only when he found himself unable to let go of the feelings he had for Abhira and found himself willing to go against his family and everything he stood for that he understood what true love actually meant ..it meant fighting against the world to protect a cherished relationship and Armaan did not do that with Ruhi ..simply put, it was because he did not love Ruhi or did not love her enough ..it was not an all encompassing love..he had to fall in love with Abhira for him to feel the difference ..!
But sometimes you do confuse love with idea of love..
He understood that was not love becoz the way he sacrificed ruhi..
But abhira ke time vo nhi kar paya aisa..
You are right people do fall out of love and than in love..
But in armaan's case, he seriously didn't loved ruhi..
But due to his misnorion he did created a mess in everyome's life be it abhira, him , ruhi or ROHIT...
