Firstly in India there's no "strippers" legally allowed.

Theres a red light area where there are "prostitutes" but thats a one to one thing.

She's going there to organize an event.

Men getting drunk at a party is not license to misbehave with a woman. Her going to a party to entertain is her choice and I don't see anything wrong with it if she's getting a reasonable pay for it. Dancing at an event is not a license to be groped or character assassinated by some drunk dudes. Wearing a short dress isnt license to be groped by someone.

She's clearly been shown taking up this job for financial reasons and because of urgency. She doesn't have endless time to find a job that pays reasonably well. She's seen that her lawyer jobs are being sabotaged by Sanjay and she needs money urgently. So she took the job she got. Obviously theres some creative freedom and exaggeration that she ends up organizing Armaans wedding.

But speaking purely about the scene, i think comparing Abhira to a stripper is absolutely uncalled for.

And in any case even a "call girl" or "stripper" cannot be touched or groped without their consent.

I think you are missing the point here - it is a bachelor party, it's not a concert where men just sit and watch.

Exactly right, you can't touch someone without their consent - that's why I said that women who are at a bachelor party do it willingly, no one forces them.

I didn't compare Abhira to a stripper, I merely explained what usually happens at a bachelor party. Abhira is not naive that she wouldn't know what a bachelor party is - it's a different story that obviously she is not doing it willingly.

I don’t buy that sh** of girl losing her self respect because she wears a short dress or dances in a party. Bachelor party is not an event where they can just start having casual sex or touching women without consent or drunk misbehave . Also in India there aren't any "strippers" or any such things that happen at bachelor's party unlike in western countries. In India a bachelors party is just a party and there can be entertainment similar to a concert only. Theres no invitation for the men to go touch the dancers. There is a distinct difference between how a bachelor's party works in India and other places.
