Actually they had wanted to cast Amitabh with parveen Babi and most probably smita patil ..( not sure )

when parveen Babi declined .. rekha was brought on board .. that time yash Chopra thought if Jaya Bachchan will agree .. he asked amitabh.. he said he will ask her

Jaya Bachchan agreed to do the movie because she knew what the ending scene will be ..
but the movie flopped in the theatres because public did not appreciate such reality shown on tv .. that time audience had higher value system

It had everything.. a superb cast and memorable very good songs .. but by casting real wale couples the producer n director lost money

I ended up watching today's episode after some time today. My observation

1. This stupid Ruhi is the scapegoat of evil Dadi whose number 1 priority is to take revenge on Abhira.

She is not much into Ruhi, actually. Instead of Ruhi, if it was Kamala baai, she would go ahead with the saadi. SO the timing worked really good for dadi. Also she realized Armaan is falling so she had to hurry. For any reason if Dadi find another solution for Armaan Ruhi might be out of her attention.

2. Manish's dialogue to Vidya today was our dialogue to writers. Like seriously. I personally think Dadi is obsessed with Abhira and They are not seeing it.

3. Manish's bankruptcy is the base for him to leave the Goenka mention (most likely without the witch Trio Swarna, Surekha and Ruhi) and go with Abhira.

4. Surprise, Armman got dialogues and He is thinking??? How did that happen?

Dadia is more then obsessed with Abhira she's afraid of the girl, can only win against

Abhira by hook and crook, cause in a fair fight she'll lose.

Dadisa had a opportunity from Abhira to be out of her house again, but she told Abhira

boss, she doesn't want anyone else sirf Abhira. The woman is a POS
