I based my thread on my understanding of Armaan which of course can be wrong because ITV lacks consistency.

Coming to Rumaan marriage; I am pretty sure he might even agree to it but will keep hovering & circling Abhira, and Gaslighting himself that Abhira has forced him into marrying Ruhi.

He can honestly do that 🙄

Being assertive and going for what he wants and not what Dadi Sa wants is out of syllabus for him.

In fact if they go down the marriage route, pretty sure Abhira and maybe Rohit (if he returns) will have to carry the brunt of the burden to stop the wedding.

Armaan can only stay like a sacrificial lamb, look pretty (I mean RP is an eye-candy), and stare at the world with teary eyes because he has to be the self-sacrificing victim.

He knows nothing else to do.

At least not till he grows a spine.

You know what I know I shouldn't do comparison but most of the time I feel that armaan resembles Anthony of bridgerton...

Its just there we knew he is obsessed with kate as well as edwina was not ruhi..and ofcourse family was not poddars..

But he also tends to feel that he had to just live for his family,he went to marry edwina after relaizing his feelings...

If edwina hadn't backed out,he would have married her...

Armaan is honestly a delicious character to unpick. He is probably the most complicated one in this Gen.

Back in Ghum days, I had loved to dissect the malicious creature that was Virat. He was honestly my favourite to write about. Not that I was a fan but his layers were interesting.

Here, Armaan is so similar & yet so different from Virat that it is a whole new experience. Add to it his emotionally abusive home life gives him a completely new direction.

I am glad you liked my thread.

I haven't written anything not there in the show. The hints are all given because Armaan's character isn't expressive (as you said the attachment of audience would be divided then). Rather his psychological issues are splattered all throughout narrative hints which I love to decode.

Armaan is bottled up .. with the new actor it is becoming even more difficult to understand what he really wants ..,

but nevertheless it is guaranteed.. that FL will have a miserable life if she gets involved with him . Sai tried many times but went back to virat .

finally when she left her life was destroyed totally …knowing the outcome and being an avid Ghum fan myself I find it difficult to go through this journey yet again analysing what may happen..
my mantra is to have 🍿 so long the FL is not crying …and not getting abused it’s ok.. I found the hostel week more entertaining than this week when she is back in PH

After the shit Armaan has said & done, the normal reaction of anyone stable headed would be to walk away; which was what she did.

I honestly don't mind the present scenario. But what I do mind is Armaan getting angry when Abhira calls their marriage as a forced one.

His hypocrisy is almost suffocating and the fact that the writers think that viewers don't remember character consistency is probably the greatest tragedy of ITV.

Consistency has never been a strong point of ITV, but it's particularly hilarious when he was screaming majboori main shaddi kiya literally a week ago.

Just realized you were the one to make the thread btw. It was such a good read, and I do agree with a lot of points. I would definitely feel like banging Armaan's head a LOT less if we could somehow get you to the writers room and give the character a damn monologue.

I can understand all his issues except his behavior with Ruhi.

I can understand his mixed emotions for Abhira, prioritizing family because he's been made to feel like they took him in and pitied him.

But why he has complete inability to stay distant from Ruhi especially in moments where he should be alone - that I dont get.

He can't be rude to her- ok. But she's made her intentions clear. And he's simply unable to tell her no. Why is that? Earlier he did say no very clearly. But suddenly he's actually letting her dream and plan their wedding . Whats that about?!

And if he really is unable to control feelings for Ruhi and does indeed want to marry her, then shouldnt his guilt be towards Abhira from whom he hid such a big truth.

But alas.....DKP is very possesive about their writers😂

Infact now that MG knows it would be easy to enlist his help to keep Ruhi away if he doesn't want to marry her or lead her on.

But instead he is letting her linger, calling her acchi, pyaari and what not.

Everyday he gets a scene with Ruhi where she's acting like a wife with full haq .

Its itv..

So we are safe..

But in real life or some nice story it qould be dangerous for fall for a guy like Armaan..

He is someone who never had anything for himself,who always kind of sacrificed and kept his emotions to himself..

His secrets to himself..

Just kept duties..

He is not laadla of his house..

Kind of adopted..

Lives in a family but alone..

Had parents but orphan...

If such a man falls for someone and started to exert rights on that person..

It could be obsessively possesive..
