Thats what. He has a convoluted definition of things. He thinks him and his family are mahaan because they gave roti, kapda, makaan to this orphan. He does not even understand why she left and why she's upset. He doesn't understand that attacking self respect and then expecting gratitude for ehsaan is not ok. He cant actually be mahaan enough to leave with her for the sake of zimmedari but he thinks that just because he phoned her and tracked her down he's proven how much he cares despite her badtameezi. He thinks thats what makes him better and oh so mahaan! He doesn't realize what real sacrifice is. He thinks that lying to your brother about the reality of his to be spouse and getting him bound to a loveless marriage is some epitome of sacrifice.

ML being toxic is unfortunately how ITV runs. However, for me how Armaan is behaving for last 2-3 episodes is similar to what I would expect from Gul characters like Arnav, Asad, Shivaay, who were introduced as rude and ruthless. Armaan always had anger issues and a blind spot when it comes to his family, but he wasn’t as arrogant or insensitive as he seems these days, so the change is all the more jarring.

Since this forum is about analysing scenes and characters, I think decoding the intent of the creatives behind a scene is a very important part of trying to interpret a character’s actions and intentions ..I know ITV shows are not literary pieces by any stretch of imagination but literary reviews involve this ..Armaan has no agency ..he is a puppet in the hands of the writers ..so the question then should be why they’re writing him in a particular way .. TRP is the obvious answer but writers still have a larger picture to address .. how they’re going to fit these pieces to create the larger picture is what I am trying to see..of course the writers have little autonomy and are themselves puppets in the hands of the platform ..but still, I want to wait and see how this plays out .. it is at an interesting point currently ..if it all goes to shit, then it is finito for me of course..maybe maintaining a distance from the show is allowing me to apathetically watch what they’re showing ..

Haan but never voluntarily. I think he also knows subconsciously that charu forced her to hide both times and its not on Abhira. But he cant accuse his family so he'll use Abhira as punching bag coz thats convenient. He knows Abhira always wants to tell him everything about everything. Thats how much she always trusted him.

I know their intent is to show that he only loses his cool with Abhira related things. She affects him so much he becomes a raging dude from his calm, composed self. She evokes extreme reactions in him

But its not coming across like that.

He's just looking like an angry guy who treats Abhira as a punching bag whenever theres a stressful situation because he thinks she cant go anywhere else anyway.
