I haven't seen the previous yrkkh gens, but it is true couples aren't just about love, there's more than love to their relationships—understanding, support, respect, there's much to name...
Abhira despite enough on her own won't mind having a saathi she can trust and enjoy her life with. Yes, she might play stapoo on her own or find fun doing anything, but we see her genuinely liking armaan as a companion, her friend, that she likes to fight with, have fun with, tell about her day and frustrations. When Armaan hugged her on his own after finding her mini kitchen, We see Abhira finding solace in his arms despite Armaan initiating the hug. It was as if that hug is what she needed, to feel she isn't alone after all, that she has someone to rely on and to find some comfort she's devoid of after her mom passed. She can live alone but every now and then she needs someone she can call her own in the world where she has no one—and for her Armaan has become that person, it is understandable since he was the one she spent the most time with after her mom died, they were married and thus they had to live together which paved a way for her to bond with him and the same goes for armaan. We see her jealous over Ruhi's equation with Armaan because for Abhira, Armaan is his only friend (only family) and she wants Armaan to reciprocate that but he has broken that trust of hers (that he's yet to mend). She even thinks he prioritizes Ruhi over her. She isn't jealous because she's in love—I don't believe she's in love yet, she's not the one to fall in love this way, this quick and definitely not with a khadoosman kind of person but little does she know what future has in store for her. She, right now, simply wants to have someone she can completely call hers just like her mother, someone to trust and feel safe with, and I don't believe that she completely realizes the extent of it either. All she is looking in this phase of her life is a "saathi", a friend.
"Saathi" which Armaan said that came from his heart but he covered it up as soon as he realised. He sees her as a saathi but hasn't admitted it to himself. He explained to Ruhi that Abhira is a perfect life-partner. He acknowledges it, definitely gave a thought over it since he said they are different in a lot of aspects, but he doesn't realise that the difference is what makes them compatible. He knows it in his heart, his subconscious knows Abhira is his saathi, but he has not realised it consciously given all the baggage he has and the current scenario of his life. Abhira has made a way into his heart, in a way which is more than a friend now. From their first meet to the current phase, they have gone through a lot—hating, worrying, caring, understanding, discovering, respecting, playing, you name it—and somewhere along these lines, Khadoosmaan's heart finally found someone it always longed for. A companion of all sorts—someone to care for him, worry for him, give him attention, to play and talk with, spend time with him without asking for anything in return unlike his family, be with him in his lowest phases. He never had experienced this in his life until Abhira came. Thus I believe what he feels for her is more than a platonic bond right now because his heart has recognised and found what he always longed for. I'm not saying he's in love with Abhira yet, True love is a long and difficult journey, but he definitely is falling for her and falling hard. Though he needs to earn her trust, come clean and clear off the past baggage. It is going to be difficult for him but ultimately, he will for his "saathi", his life-partner.
Little do they know, whatever the phase they are right now, whatever their goals are right now, they will eventually find their ways towards each other no matter wherever they'll go.
P.S. @KajalRai21 I'm happy to know I was able to make you write it :)
